Chewing Wax:
Hello Heruka
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 3:50:30 pm)

Heruka:
I don't paticularly like California either. Except the Mexicans. I don't mind them. Too many freaks.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 3:50:41 pm)

Heruka:
Hello. Sunny as a motherpucker out. I'm trying to curb my online swearing.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 3:51:44 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Excellent work. Today felt like March. Sunny, warm, spring right around the corner. Just eight weeks and four days to go.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 3:53:29 pm)

Heruka:
We're there. Put-in-Bay this year? You know you want to come to Ohio for a visit. I know you do. Just do it.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 3:57:55 pm)

Heruka:
U2 tix go on sale this Saturday. $45 for festival seating. What a ripoff. Will I go? Probably.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:01:00 pm)

Chewing Wax:
They're coming here in June. $130 for good floor seats. I nearly shot milk out my nose when I saw that. Fuck that. No way. I don't even like them that much. I saw them in Wembley Stadium in 1987. That's good enough for me.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:02:51 pm)

Chewing Wax:
I see that soon to be President Bush thinks that California's power problem is due to polution regulations and the lack of oil exploration. He is a very stupid man. Stupid, misinformed and dull. Painfully dim.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:21:47 pm)

Heruka:
Yeah, they got that special offer going on here too. Only reason I would go for that would be cause my nephew is such a fanatic for them. I've seen them twice. Once in '87 and once in '94.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:23:35 pm)

Chewing Wax:
In Washington, President-elect George W. Bush told CNN that solving California's power shortage might require the loosening of environmental regulations.

"If there's any environmental regulations that's preventing California from having a 100 percent max output at their plants, as I understand there may be, then we need to relax those regulations," Bush said.

"The situation in California underlies what I was saying in the course of the campaign," Bush said. "We have an energy problem."

He said energy conservation should be promoted, but the "best way to make sure we have energy independence is to encourage more exploration."

At a Senate confirmation hearing, and embarrassed Energy Secretary-designate Spencer Abraham said that Bush views California's power crisis as "an urgent priority" but that it's premature to speculate on actions the federal government might take. "This is of course nothing to do with a lack of oil but a failed deregulation scheme. Governer Bush will do the right thing as soon as I explain to him what it should be."
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:26:31 pm)

Heruka:
I wish we has power shortages. Or water shortages. Or anything. But no. We have to have plenty of everything. The only thing we have is the occasional tornado.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:26:56 pm)

Heruka:
Good grief.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:28:35 pm)

Chewing Wax:
We get snow every so often. But that's about it. I think we should get lack of disaster credits from the federal government.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:29:11 pm)

Heruka:
I suspect a large part of his statement is correct.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:29:24 pm)

Chewing Wax:
I suspect he doesn't have a clue about what is going on. He's too busy trying to get that bow-tie right for the big speech thingy on Saturday.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:30:35 pm)

Heruka:
Perhaps he meant to refer to coal burning plants. Perhaps. This would fit in with what he said.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:30:36 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Yes. I'm sure that's it.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:33:49 pm)

Heruka:
Now you're just being patronizing towards me. Don't plants get fines for burning coal? I'm almost certain they do.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:38:13 pm)

Heruka:
That first sentence makes no sense at all.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:39:47 pm)

Chewing Wax:
I don't think plants can just switch what they burn.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:42:43 pm)

Chewing Wax:
but what do I know?
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:44:26 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Is it me or are the days getting longer?
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:46:19 pm)

Heruka:
Never said they do. I believe if I do remember right. That coal burning plants get fined for burning coal. The more they burn, they higher the fines. More of a tax to keep the criminals known as the EPA going than an actual fine. Being California and all. I suspect they have some type of regulations to limit how much coal they can actually burn. I'm going to have to read up on this. Here in Ohio the fine thing is how it works. It's been a long time since I learned this stuff, so my facts may not be 100% correct.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:49:13 pm)

Myk Murphy:
hello, gents.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:50:44 pm)

Chewing Wax:
We just pay through the teeth for hydro electric coming off of Niagara Falls. Rochester has a nuclear plant, but I think that's just so they can look cool.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:51:45 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Murphy!
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 4:52:02 pm)

Heruka:

Myk Murphy:
it looks increasingly likely that i'll be locked in my no-internet dungeon for many months to come. i must devise a plan to fix this problem.
(Thu Jan 18, 2001 - 5:00:10 pm)

Chewing Wax:
