Sleepy:
Alas, no snowballs in the office for me. Instead I shall hurl wet teabags at the two people wandering around the mill.

(Thu Dec 28, 2000 - 9:38:44 am)

orange:
i saw a man on a parachute earlier, he was just hovering, very odd. Apparently he landed in Buck House. maybe he was trying to get into the sales.
(Thu Dec 28, 2000 - 10:07:42 am)

Sleepy:
And now he will be arrested. Oh the shame.
(Thu Dec 28, 2000 - 10:14:44 am)

yes, i saw the news on bbc america tonight. landed right there on buckingHAM (do your own american pronunciation here) palace. nice landing. shame about the arrest, however. you should get a pardon for doing something foolish, if you do it well.

Mrs Dr GB:
Woo-hoo! Snow! I was so excited about it that I broke something. Beardie was thrilled. So, how's tricks? I didn't hear about parachute man. Bravo him. Let's hope he had bad intentions.

Sleepy:
Lovely Far Side yesterday. An Eskimo is standing outside his igloo and says "Well, it's cold again."

Chewing Wax:
I'm going to get a CD writer. Any recommendations?
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 11:12:55 am)

theo:
I have a MicroSolutions backpack cd-writer, it's external and comes with Adaptec Direct CD and Easy CD creator software. And i'am very pleased with it. Lots of advantages with the external units.
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 11:32:46 am)

theo:
audio storage upto 650MBs per disc, and unlimited data storage too. i don't buy pc games anymore i burn em.
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 11:36:16 am)

Chewing Wax:
Is it USB?
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 11:38:15 am)

Myk Murphy:
hello, everyone. darn this work thing. that office sucks. if you're getting a cd writer, wax, you can save money if you buy an internal. the externals are cool, if you need to move the cd writer around, but they cost more and can only burn at 4x. currently, you can buy a competent 8x internal burner for $129. iomega, believe it or not, makes a fine 8x4x32x burner for around that money. i wouldn't pay extra for 12x burners... any serious audio cd duplicating should always be done at slower speeds, anyway. on the other hand, it's nice to burn a data cd in just a few minutes at 8x.
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 3:15:40 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Thanks Myk. Decoy said the HP's were good too.
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 3:57:01 pm)

Myk Murphy:
yes, the HPs are quite nice, and they seem to have a new generation of burners that are actually priced on the cheap. really, there are few bad burners out there. even the "no name" burners are usually quite capable, and near $100 (after rebates and other nonsense).
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 4:22:46 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Well, I went off on my own and got the Plextor Corp.'s PlexWriter for $199. It got good reviews.
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 5:00:06 pm)

Myk Murphy:
no, not that one!!
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 5:03:43 pm)

Myk Murphy:
seriously, that's a fine product.
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 5:03:55 pm)

theo:
Congradulations on your new cd burner, speaking of which, i really do have yer r.h. cds burned, i've just been slacking, and haven't mailed them yet. keep the faith.
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 7:52:15 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i just noticed that the snowballs seem to go in quite a few new directions. lovely work there, as always.
(Fri Dec 29, 2000 - 10:13:11 pm)

Heruka:
Hmm. I've got a HP. It's nice. I very seldom use it though. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/2/15620.html That's interesting. The two computers I just picked up are IBM's. My uncles wife is a manager for international sales for IBM. Or something like that. Oh well.
(Sat Dec 30, 2000 - 12:18:48 am)

Mrs Dr GB:
We have a PlexWriter. I have nothing more to say. I am the weakest link, goodbye.
