Myk Murphy:
responding to the anonymous critic: while it may seem very enlightened to "stay out of the fray" in this extended political season, it also seems an easy avenue toward complacency. however the legal (but mostly political) wranglings work out, my disparagement of the bush campaign's approach is still valid. the "political outsider" approach i mentioned is a tune constantly played at the federal level, most disturbingly during the nazi... er... conservative republican putsch... er... contract with America back in '94. in short, my critique has little to do with "mirroring" the current "farce", but rather, addresses a chronic ailment in the US body politic.

Decoy:
You both have your points. Compelling in many ways, actually. But I tell you one thing ... ITS NONE OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNEMNTS FUCKING BUSINESS WHAT FLORIDA DOES WITH ITS VOTES. If this wasn't a more obvious state's right issue, I'd think they are just trying to see if the states will put up with federal crapocracy muddling at the highest level. The federal government was created by the states, not the other way around.

Wax, there were 7,000+ entries, and they narrowed it down to 250. Now we have a lot of work to do to get passed the next elimination round.

Myk Murphy:
yeah, Q, nice work on the screenplay thing. i looked up the website and saw what all the hubbub was about. very cool. your point is also compelling, decoy, but state's rights are eroded daily. ever since the great depression, and compounded by world war II and the civil rights movement, we have allowed state's rights to die a quiet death. i can't say i'd complain that much... most state governments are a bit disappointing.
(Sat Dec 2, 2000 - 9:27:54 pm)
Decoy:
Not having to worry about something doesn't make it go away, or lessen its importance. Most countrie's governements are a bit disappointing: errrr Iraq, errrr Yugoslavia, errrr Cuba, err Bizzaro World.

Empty words coming from a Democrat, Decoy. I personally don't belive Big Brother should sticks it's power-hungry nose into State or Local Governments. Blah. This situation is different though. When you've got judges that are embarassingly obvious in their partisan, something else must be done. To make "certain" rulings in order to let your party cheat at an election. I believe at this point Floridas Surpreme Court has lost complete credibility. A strange thing, everyone(Drmocrats)is complaining about the Butterfly Ballot. Well, apparently the illiterate in Florida and those people who need them to be elected are complaining. The strange notion is that it's the same ballots that they're whining about that's letting them recount(over and over again). Here where I live they wouldn't be able to do this. We use electonic voting. No paper-trail here. Isn't that why so many Counties still stick with the paper? I think ours suck. They should design them like cash registers, with reciepts. Oh well. Litlle Nicky. Bad mocie. Very bad. Blue Margarita's...mmmmmmmmmmm.....

We've lost almost every game this year. Oh well. Everyone's team here lost today. At least I'm not alone... Decoys not a Democrat? I apologize. You must be terrible offended.
