david gray is getting popular over here due to strong label support. he's on ATO, which is dave matthews' new label for "career artists". at times, he sounds a bit like dave, with his freestyle vocals behind piano or acoustic guitar, but veers toward something else. his latest album has a bit of sampler in it, but it still has an organic sound. strong songwriting skills, to be sure.
