Sleepy :
Haven't they finished counting yet?
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 10:42:38 am)
Decoy:
I heard they found more votes for Gore just now.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 10:43:50 am)
Myk Murphy:
they say the vote counting wraps up @5pm our time. with the palm beach screwup becoming clearer, and a major problem in volusia county, this thing won't be finished when the counting is done. the dems have a good lawsuit here.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 10:44:29 am)
Decoy:
Who runs the election? can the government sue itself? This is bizzare.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 10:46:39 am)
Chewing Wax:
This whole thing is filling me with rage
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 10:47:31 am)
Sleepy :
Me too and I don't even live there.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 10:54:24 am)
Sleepy :
But if they do find that the voting was wrong, won't some of the other close states demand a recount too?
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 10:56:40 am)
Myk Murphy:
we should be very happy if this nonsense triggers the abolition of the electoral college. it was designed for a US with multiple strong candidates, and it flies in the face of our process to allow direct elections. for example, there was a time when we could not directly elect our senators, but now we can. much to hillary's delight!
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 10:58:14 am)
Chewing Wax:
it's true
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 11:00:09 am)
Myk Murphy:
florida has a bad reputation for voter irregularity, recently causing a turnover in miami's mayoral race. as for the other states, the races were close, but not this close. irregularities, thankfully, only affect a small group per state.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 11:00:36 am)
Myk Murphy:
too bad my state decided to elect a dumbass redneck to the senate. it was the democratic incumbent's fault, however. a lazy and dopey campaigner, and too aloof for the liking of most folks.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 11:02:41 am)
Chewing Wax:
and guns. You virginians love your guns.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 11:04:36 am)
Sleepy:
So the word "Floridian" is now officially a term of abuse?
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 11:05:12 am)
Chewing Wax:
more so then ever before
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 11:08:37 am)
:
In politics the shit is the same, only the flies change.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 11:27:36 am)
Myk Murphy:
yeah, the new guy is bought and sold with the NRA.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 11:56:35 am)
mİ:
None of this would have happened if you had a chicken walker in that bunch. Clearly.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:06:19 pm)
Decoy:
The members of the electoral college have the right to not vote as their constituents request them. What if ...
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:06:40 pm)
Decoy:
Ahhh, moochİ ... the voice of reason.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:07:04 pm)
mİ:
If you need a bit of humour tonight about 8:00 pm your time catch the Canadian leadership debate here in the frozen north it's going to be hillarious Jean Crouton, Stockboy Day, Joe Who, and Alexa McMadonna .. on CBC .. if you can get it..on your fancy Sat tv...it'll take you mind off being attacked by the Chinese who are watching your leaderlessness very closely right now..
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:13:57 pm)
mİ:
Our present Prime Minister Jean Crouton looks and talks like a cross between Maurice Chevalier and Frankenstein. I'm getting plenty of beer for this one..later.. and good luck down there, eh?
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:18:03 pm)
Cushca:
Would you like to borrow our "leader" for a while?
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:40:39 pm)
Decoy:
That does sound interesting, does he come with the Queen as a package?
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:53:55 pm)
Decoy:
(I'm stocking up on Labatt Blue for tonight as well.)
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:55:00 pm)
Decoy:
Wax put the link to the poll up. Everyone refresh your left side bar and poll poll poll ... thanks, Wax.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 12:58:28 pm)
Sleepy:
Oh this is ridiculous. That polling form was not clear. I've accidently voted for Buchanan.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 1:00:49 pm)
Sleepy:
Ho ho. Goodnight.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 1:10:47 pm)
Myk Murphy:
goodnight, misvoting chums. we could use Red Ken at a time like this.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 1:21:26 pm)
Decoy:
I knew the old Anglo women would get confused and vote for Buchanan. That's how you stack an election. Blame Florida. My next question is, should all the states be recounting just in case, I mean it's not like we're waiting any longer. Besides - Oregon is also still too close to call.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 1:40:41 pm)
Decoy:
We're getting some interesting results ....
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 1:43:08 pm)
Myk Murphy:
screw oregon. (sorry queenie.) pacific northwest naderites be damned! gore doesn't need their electoral votes! just the votes from the lovely folks in florida.
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 1:50:30 pm)
Myk Murphy:
and what the hell is wrong with washington state? can't they vote like normal people? it would be nice to see how the senate race wraps up there. something like 700,000 mail-in votes. how inconsiderate!
(Thu Nov 9, 2000 - 2:04:06 pm)
Meanwhile... aboard the Cassini probe...:
