Froupie:
hey bela
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:24:00 am)

bela:
I'm in an ethical conundrum. I've been thinking about putting my dog buster down. Hes an older dog, but he makes my life so stressful. This poor dog is in a constant state and anxiety and I just don't know what to do. He doesn't stop crying ever really. Is that terrible?
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:24:16 am)

Froupie:
what does the vet say?
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:25:16 am)

bela:
I can't sleep because he wakes up fidgeting and crying. He barks all the time. My mornings are nothing but stress. He just cries this super high pitched whine all morning. I go in the bathroom and he freaks out. I just don't know what to do. I try to train him and it works a little but not much. I ordered one of those citronella spray collars for him yesterday to control his barking and if that doesn't work, I don't know.
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:26:21 am)

Froupie:
he sounds very distressed.. poor little guy
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:27:18 am)

bela:
Well, the vet is the vet at the shelter and she would never ever put him down. They would put him back in the kennel first. I would never do that. But they're bad, they won't put any dog down unless it bites. THey have a dog in there that can't walk so it sits in a run in its own piss and shit all day. So maybe I should bring him to another vet. Behaviour issues, theres really not a whole lot they're going to tell me.
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:27:59 am)

bela:
I don't know, I've just been thinking about it. I never thought I would be this kind of person that would even think about putting down an emotionally challenged dog, but until you're there. I feel like I'm living with a retarded child, thats how bad it is. This dog just drains me. I get to work and I'm so drained.
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:29:50 am)

Froupie:
he may be to old and stuck in his ways to learn new behaviour now
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:29:55 am)

bela:
Oh totally, I don't have much hope he'll change much. I don't know. I would have to think about it and see what other people think. Tom thinks I should put him down.
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:30:42 am)

Froupie:
can't he live with tom?
(Fri Jun 18, 2004 - 9:30:51 am)
