YOU ARE BIDDING ON AN ORIGINAL AIR GUITAR FROM THE 80'S. THIS ONE WAS USED ONCE AT A BON JOVI CONCERT IN 89 FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS.

Madness downtown today. Snipers on our roof, sweating & grieving republicans getting bottled water, etc. I'm just glad i go good early and missed the evacuation scare. My kind of town, baby, yeah!
(Wed Jun 9, 2004 - 5:58:06 pm)
Queenie:
snipers, eh? did they demand that you wear clown suits on live television?
(Wed Jun 9, 2004 - 6:22:20 pm)
Myk Murphy:
as appealing as that would be, sadly, they did not. the mall was a zoo today. nasty gross hot hazy day, too. 91+ degrees and humid as can be.
i'm watching the 21 gun salute on tv, thankfully. it would have been literally no trouble to stick around, but i figured that there would be enough adoring throngs to line consitution and pennsylvania avenues.
i was on the top floor of my building and some interesting characters were going to make it very difficult to use the stairway.

here it rained. and rained. and rained.
(Wed Jun 9, 2004 - 7:17:31 pm)
Myk Murphy:
sorry to hear it, but isn't that a pacific northwest tradition? or is that just a stereotype? i honestly have no idea.
mercifully, it didn't rain today, although the hot onlookers probably wouldn't have minded.
(Wed Jun 9, 2004 - 7:29:38 pm)
Queenie:
it's sort of how it is up here, though normally the rainy season is over by now. it's totally fucking up our rose festival. the sailors start coming today. we're supposed to be done with rain by now. I just hope it doesn't fuck with my violent femmes concert on saturday.
(Wed Jun 9, 2004 - 7:40:17 pm)
Myk Murphy:
the femmes are in town? very cool. my first and last time seeing them was in 1989. i bet gordon still puts on a pretty wacky show.
(Wed Jun 9, 2004 - 7:44:57 pm)
Queenie:
yeah this saturday, for five bucks. I'm gonna take sidney. Gordon's swelled quite a bit.
(Wed Jun 9, 2004 - 8:07:26 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i bet he has. a swell guy, to be sure.

ooh... dunno if anyone has mentioned this fegmania news, but robyn's got a new cd called "spooked" coming out 09/07/2004. that's sept. 7th, rather than july 9th, for our international friends who abbreviate correctly.

i was just flipping channels, and it appears that OJ simpson is giving a live interview on "court tv" channel. if he would just stay out of the national spotlight, i wouldn't care if he never served time.

ok, here's another cool VOIP phone company. they just opened their doors this week, and god bless 'em, they're based in northern virginia... "Lingo". more service and features than vonage for less cash. $19.99 per month will get you unlimited calls to US, Canada, and all of western Europe (except mobile phones... they cost a bit extra). vonage doesn't throw in free calling to w. europe... yet. the FCC refuses to tax VOIP at this point, so the price is the price. i think i'm going to finally join the VOIP thing.
a warning about VOIP: don't go VOIP if your broadband connection is spotty. nothing worse than trying to have an intelligent conversation with someone on an overtaxed or undercapable network.
sorry for my evangelical tone about VOIP, but i hate phone companies with a hatred reserved for very few. landline phone companies have served up the same shitty product for decades, and have fought innovation and competition with all their collective might, making the average cable company look, in comparison, like a saint. it looks like VOIP will hurt the Bells, and that's a beautiful thing.

Man finds body in fridge while making tea
LONDON (Reuters) - Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man found his daughter-in-law's dismembered body in his son's fridge while looking for milk, police and newspapers say.
Police said a body had been discovered in London's southwestern suburb of Kingston-upon-Thames late on Tuesday, and police sources confirmed it was crammed into a fridge.
The Sun said the man had let himself into his son's detached house when he found nobody at home, and was making a cup of tea when he discovered the Korean-born victim wrapped up in plastic bags.
"They seemed like such a nice couple," neighbours were quoted as saying.
