Chewing Wax:
Rain is why they put the beer and games of chance under a tent. You can see the genius.

Heruka:
Hello.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 9:52:23 pm)
Heruka:
we had a nice sail today. I love sailing. no sun though. perhaps tomorrow.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:00:24 pm)
Myk Murphy:
howdy, heruka. how was your trip? where exactly did you go?
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:00:38 pm)
Heruka:
our trip to Mexico, or sailing? we went to Mazatlan and Durango Mexico. Matatlan is nice I'm wondering if I can outsource myself there. sailing, we just went up the shore about 10 miles or so.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:03:17 pm)
Myk Murphy:
the mexico trip. what did you do there for entertainment?
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:04:30 pm)
Heruka:
not much. hung around mostly. there's nothing really to do down there. her family is from a small town south of Durango, El Trancon or something. nice people. half the town now lives in the States.
at the coast we loked at property. which isn;t cheap these days. but nice.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:12:56 pm)
Myk Murphy:
the Gipper has finally passed on. a toast to the old guy.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:16:27 pm)
Myk Murphy:
well, it sounds like a nice trip. i've never been to mexico, but i'd like to do so.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:17:22 pm)
Heruka:
yeah. thats sad. I think he'll be the last great president, or at least the last one with a vision that isn't controlled by polls.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:17:59 pm)
Myk Murphy:
you could be right. i gotta step away. later, h.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:19:18 pm)
Heruka:
you should go. it's an interesting place. I could live there, if it wasn't for the social structure but that may also be in the raising of the child as mucha s anything. they still view women as second class citizens and are abusive to them. which angers me to no end.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:19:35 pm)
Heruka:
later.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:19:42 pm)

Current US President George W Bush said Ronald Reagan "won America's respect with his greatness. And won its love with his goodness."
And Bush lost it all.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:37:57 pm)
Heruka:
I like this one.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:50:02 pm)
Heruka:
oooohhhh, yet another substanceless comment from the peanut gallery.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 10:51:33 pm)
Heruka:
I'm going to run to the store and pick up some beer.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 11:09:55 pm)
:
Run along then. Reagan divided the rich and the poor and his only concern was for those who had.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 11:15:42 pm)
:
But remember when you drink to his death you follow blindly the herd. He was a hopeless actor and a less than useless president. I think they should bury him with a good BBQ sauce. It'll come in handy where that bastard is going. This country is better without him.

ah, the old mantra, 'repubs' are for the rich. such elementary bs.
(Sat Jun 5, 2004 - 11:52:33 pm)
Myk Murphy:
reagan ensured the end of the cold war, but it was won by slashing social programs and creating a national debt that seriously weakened the nation. this paid for the largest military build-up since world war II. psychologically, he returned the US to seeing itself as a powerful nation with nearly limitless resources. historians will have a hell of a time deciding if the price was worth it. from the short view, it appears that it was.
as for his acting, it wasn't very good.
while he was beginning to show fatigue during his second term, friends and foes alike cannot dismiss reagan as "less than useless".
(Sun Jun 6, 2004 - 12:27:21 am)
Myk Murphy:
regarding party politics, reagan's impact on the republican party cannot be overstated. he completed the project begun by nixon: the GOP's shotgun wedding with the christian conservative movement. the republicans couldn't resist their grass-roots organization, but the price was high: the party now suffered from schizophrenia, in that it was at once libertarian and interested in enforcing its social and moral beliefs. the struggle for the GOP's soul continues today, in that educated (and wealthy) moderates would like the party to reclaim the political center and expand the political tent.
(Sun Jun 6, 2004 - 12:41:10 am)
Heruka:
yeah Myk. the ruepubs will be losing the extremists in their grouop. much like what's going on in the dem party with nader. I would like to see that. I'm a repub because I'd like to tell the gov to fuck off. but something has gone awry, both the dems and repubs worship big goverment these days. whether it's the dems wlefarenanny state, or the repubs police force, they're both pulling the same direction, just different ropes.
