Myk Murphy:
poor guy. enjoy the movie. i just saw "magnolia". very odd, but oddly satisfying. recommended, with caveats.

Queenie:
We got "High Fidelity"...I intend to enjoy it fully.
(Mon Oct 2, 2000 - 3:24:55 pm)
Myk Murphy:
oh boy, that's a fun film. it's a generation-specific film, but fortunately for us, it's our generation.

Chewing Wax:
punks
(Mon Oct 2, 2000 - 4:12:18 pm)
Myk Murphy:
yes, lowlife punks. all of us. with the green hair and the pierced eyebrows and the hey hey hey...
(Mon Oct 2, 2000 - 4:15:10 pm)
Chewing Wax:
I knew it

Queenie:
Halfway through it. Enjoying it tremendously. Especially the "Dick" character...I've known guys just like that. This is the first film in which I've noticed John Cusack looking older. For a while there I thought he was a vampire or something. It's kind of disheartning to realize that you are watching a generation-specific movie for your generation, and that the actors are looking old.

Mrs Dr GB:
Today's "I don't believe it", from one of those free newspapers. Accompanying it is a picture of Nelson Mandela with the word "pensioner" underneath it, which is priceless. "I must agree with Helen Young. Like many other working people, I have often had my lunch break wasted behind a huge queue of thoughtless, selfish, old people who have all day to do their business. I would willingly change my account to any bank that banned them from its premises between noon and 2pm. Talking of that, why are pensioners constantly moaning about being poor when they're always in the bank or out shopping?"

Queenie:
Been trying to find a Jane Fonda fan website. It's been remarkably difficult, with the exception of many sites devoted to Barbarella. Sleep now.

Myk Murphy:

(Tue Oct 3, 2000 - 8:38:39 am)
Mrs Dr GB:
Hello. Everything sucks.
(Tue Oct 3, 2000 - 9:19:51 am)
Myk Murphy:
are you still going on about pensioners?

Are those wax head baloons deflating into desicated raisin-like floating face skins? Mrs.Dr.GB, bank online miss the freak show.

Cushca:
It's all my fault, Bird. Apparently.
(Tue Oct 3, 2000 - 10:23:42 am)
Myk Murphy:
hello, PM of moochland. the mg is running quite nicely, and i'll soon be taking it for a spin. oddly warm today (mid-80s, or 30C), so i'm looking forward to it. the new shocks on the back have made it a new car, really. before, the backend bounced madly on turns, but now the back feels heavy. it's no longer a health hazard, especially with the new steering rack up front. as for the body, this winter i'll likely get it de-rusted, primed, and painted dark metallic blue. before and after pics will be available in the lobby.
(Tue Oct 3, 2000 - 10:28:48 am)
Cushca:
Afternoon bastards.
(Tue Oct 3, 2000 - 10:31:15 am)
Myk Murphy:
hello, cushcalove. despite your "fun deficit," i hope you're enjoying your days and nights in swinging london.

Queenie:
Good morning youngsters. To answer the Jane Fonda question, I am considering getting my hair cut like hers in "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" and was trying to find a still from the movie. I was unsuccessful.
(Tue Oct 3, 2000 - 11:51:36 am)
Queenie:
It's a tough decision. I've been growing it long for about four years now. But I just can't manage it anymore. It's out of control.

(Tue Oct 3, 2000 - 12:52:04 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i just chatted with my friend/old coworker who now lives in saudi arabia. he is partying very much, putting me in a "fun deficit". he did some diving in the red sea a couple weeks ago, and he's headed to the sinai for partying and diving and such next week. next month, he goes to turkey to meet up with a bird (old flame) and stay in a seaside place on the med. it's important to get lots of vacation time (more than americans get) if you want to be an "international man of mystery."
(Tue Oct 3, 2000 - 1:04:56 pm)
Myk Murphy:
with a bit of patience, and just the right material, one can effectively kill all chat on a chatboard. i chose "the saudi party scene" as my chat killer.
