Chewing Wax:
I got bit by a snapper out near Decoy's back field when I was a kid. The bastard just sat there while I poke it with a stick. It was standing in the way of the horse path. But when I reach in to move it, it snapped. Nearly took my finger off. That's the same finger that was bitten by the hampster and the dog.

What was a turtle doing walking around in Decoy's back field?
(Thu May 6, 2004 - 4:25:25 pm)
Chewing Wax:
It lived there. Actually it was in the field adjacent to his field which belonged to the stable where we kept our horses.

Hailing from Portland, Evangeline has revived a classic 40's burlesque act which features a scantily clad
"Oyster Girl" who emerges once a year to perform her exotic mating dance. Jane Blevin, the current Evangeline,
learned her act from Kitty West, the original Oyster girl, who is now in her 70s. Evangeline is obsessed with
keeping the old-time burlesque tradition alive-her performance is witty, sexy and contains nearly no nudity. Rather
than rely on striptease, she uses the art of dance to arouse and entertain. Blevin hopes that her act will rekindle an
interest in this nearly-forgotten artform and will encourage other cultural anthropologists to seek out former
burlesque performers and learn their acts before they are lost forever to the big nap.
She is currently putting together a full revue and hopes to find a backer to launch a national tour.

turtles are cool. one of my closest friends has always had a turtle tank. we had it at college... a couple Sliders and a western painted turtle. one of the sliders got so big you couldn't let it nip at your finger for fear of digit loss. he also had a malaysian box turtle, who is now living with another old friend (my band's lead singer/guitarist). it's cool to pass turtles between friends.

What? Does any of that make sense?
(Fri May 7, 2004 - 12:19:17 am)
Chewing Wax :
The snapper I'm talking about was a good 30 pounder. Huge and mean and wild when it came right down to it. And... if I haven't mentioned it before, it nearly took my finger off.

Franco has been running in other's peoples houses. I walk him off leash and yesterday he darted up the stairs of the neighbor's house and ran in. The family was outside like they always are with all these kids and the mother thought it was funny. He did it again this morning to someone else.

Its Julia's cat - her name is Lumpy. I think thats a stupid name, her idiot exhusband named it. She needs a sophisticated name like Claire or Estelle or something. Lumpy. Shes a big kitten - fluffy grey and white with orange eyes that are crossed. Shes really sweet. Not like my awful cats. I miss bela so much all the time. Tom is never home, I hope they aren't lonely. I think Wolfie is.
