Queenie:
he's got a great new bit called "approved by the FCC" that's really horrible sounds, such as "setting kittens on fire and beating them to death with a hammer" and "chopping off helen keller's fingers with an axe", then followed with a narrative that says, "remember what the FCC says, disgusting horrific broadcasts of violence, pain, racism, hatred, and intolerance are absolutely fine. Unless they include wee wees, boobies, pee pee, or ka ka".
It really is genius. he gets a lot of hate mail from folks though who just don't quite get the irony.
(Mon Apr 26, 2004 - 2:53:51 pm)
Queenie:
he's working on a couple more, "retarded children playing dodgeball" and "baby's first stove". heh.

(Mon Apr 26, 2004 - 2:56:48 pm)
Queenie:
it's scary, they've had three indecency meetings in three weeks. after the initial meeting, they came up with "code words" to use in place of profanities, like nonsense words, but then the FCC countered with fines for nonsense words, so they're judging context now, it's scary stuff, most folks just don't know.
(Mon Apr 26, 2004 - 2:58:13 pm)
Queenie:
so you can say "I put my shlobo in her num-nums" and get fined.
(Mon Apr 26, 2004 - 2:58:53 pm)
bela:
I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Queenie:
howard stern got fined for re-playing something that aired on the Oprah show. Oprah did NOT get fined for it. You know why? Cause the FCC said she's "much beloved" therefore she wouldn't be fined. Stern, however, who had like a ten share in NYC, is apparently NOT much beloved. So they're just making shit up now. it freaks me out.
(Mon Apr 26, 2004 - 3:00:44 pm)
Froupie:
hes my beloved
(Mon Apr 26, 2004 - 3:01:24 pm)

censorshipmis a part of every culture and society. whether it's brning a cross in America, saying the wod nigger in Canada, or pornography in Mexico. it's not what you say, but who you're saying it to. I'm not justifying this admins extreme position, but the relaity is everyone loves and wants censorship on some level. everyone. what gets censored is just a matter of opinion and personal taste.
(Mon Apr 26, 2004 - 4:12:03 pm)
Chewing Wax:
