Froupie:
not really, my mum got me a grifter when i was kid but i wanted a horse instead. my brother had a cool bike called a chopper, like the ones in that old supergrass video.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:24:21 pm)
Myk Murphy:
how did those guys ever get on the bike in the first place? the steering must have been awful, as turning the handlebar would start turning your feet on the pedal. i looked up the price on that bike. only $549, which means the components must be pretty lame.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:25:11 pm)
Froupie:
these were cool
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:25:32 pm)
Froupie:
they had to stand on little midgets to get a leg up. its true.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:26:21 pm)
Myk Murphy:
we had banana seat bikes when we were little, and then bmx dirt bikes were all the rage. as a young boy, you were considered a girly boy if you didn't have a cool bike from mongoose or someone like that.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:26:29 pm)
Myk Murphy:
yeah, ours were more fluid (think of pee wee herman's schwinn cruiser in that style.)
midget assistants? resourceful.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:27:38 pm)
Froupie:
they were called penny farthings because thats how much they cost brand new. it works out at about $549 i believe.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:27:52 pm)
Myk Murphy:
speaking of currency conversion, you're missing your big chance to come visit us in the 3rd world.... the humble dollar is regaining ground now that our fed boss is talking higher interest rates. parity with the euro tomorrow, parity with the pound sterling next week!
well, perhaps not yet.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:30:05 pm)
Froupie:
wee hee i'm rich!
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:30:12 pm)
Myk Murphy:

(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:30:34 pm)
Myk Murphy:

(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:31:20 pm)
Froupie:
they rock huh? i love em. they are my gods. and you noticed they use a drum machine? i think they made the drum machine sound great. it kinda suits their sound.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:31:34 pm)
Myk Murphy:
yeah, i'm a big fan of a well-placed drum machine. that was especially true before we got our new drummer this past year. he's cool.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:32:51 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i was enjoying feeder a lot, too. good sounds. just to make you ill, i've gotta tell you that my guitarist was entertaining us earlier (after biking) with a competent piano rendition of coldplay's "trouble".
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:38:00 pm)
Froupie:

(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:41:34 pm)

(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:42:28 pm)
Myk Murphy:

(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:42:52 pm)
Froupie:
i did actually like their first album, until i heard it a few times too many. overkill. now i cannot bear it. second album just bored me to tears. i just find them really weedy.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:43:37 pm)
Myk Murphy:

(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:44:09 pm)

(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:44:25 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i love "high speed" off the first album.
"can anybody fly this thing?" is a great way to start a song.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:45:19 pm)
Myk Murphy:
and such similar names, too. it should just rub off on him.
(Fri Apr 23, 2004 - 5:46:03 pm)
