My cat...the old one that sits on the windowsill all day...I was just walking past her and she had this real funny look on her face...her mouth was open with her tongue out, you know how they do. Anyway she turned and looked at me...and I just knew that she's going to go soon. I just knew, you know? And I cried. I petted her softly and I cried. This cat that I've had absolutely no affinity for for eight years, with whom I've simple co-existed, each of us barely tolerating the other...she just had this look of peace and weariness and it was just so very touching. It was a special moment that I don't think we'll ever have again, me and her. It was just one moment.

Shortly after my last post, Speck started jerking her head convulsively like every thirty seconds or so. I took her outside and held her on my lap for about an hour. She was pleased. I cried some more. A lot.

I don't think I want to take her to the vet, Wax. She's still eating and drinking plenty every day, and going potty every day. And I can't bring myself to shover her into that carrier because she really hates that.
