bela: Oh please, how self indulgent can you be? Pah, birthday week. I guess you hicks have nothing better to do though than make a huge and ridiculous affair out of one crappy, meaningless day. - Monday, September 25, 2000 at 11:26:21 (PDT) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------: Frat boys. Lots of beer. Bela's not so bad, you know. You just have to get past that gruff exterior. She's just a New York girl.

Ok, now I'm off to bed.

(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 9:56:05 am)

Myk Murphy:
i listened to JFS while building a friend's pc last night. it had been a while since i last listened, so that was nice. not that this has anything to do with rude NYC folks or psychopathic bruins. by the way, this pc is a beast.

Sleepy:
I ate cottage cheese for the first time yesterday. And I saw the eyeball-slitting scene in Un Chien Andalou. What a full and interesting Monday it was.
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 10:10:48 am)

Chewing Wax:
cottage cheese for the first time. that is a banner day. I'm unfamiliar with the eyeball-slitting scene but it sounds yummy.
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 10:11:57 am)

I think I want to go see the re-release of the Exorcist. But I'm afraid.

Un Chien Andalou. Classic.

Queenie:
Do Jehovah's Witnesses really not celebrate birthdays? What is the reasoning behind that?
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 11:03:44 am)

Queenie:
Can I get your guys' opinions on a running debate I have with Ken? See, for the past few months, Sidney has been having less and less of an appetite in the morning. I'm the same way, if I eat a lot when I first wake up I feel nauseated and awful, so I sympathize. All we can get her to eat in the morning is usually a few bites of something. I think that we should never, ever FORCE her to eat, as I fear that this is one way that eating disorders are born. Ken says that he can't, in good conscience, send his daughter to school on an empty stomach. I say if she's not hungry, then her body must not need it. He says that his mom always made him eat his breakfast, so it must be OK. I say his eating habits now are appalling, which should instantly rule out anything his mother ever did. What do you guys think?
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 11:07:23 am)

Chewing Wax:
Does she eat enough the rest of the day? Is she malnourished?
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 11:11:32 am)

Queenie:
She pigs out the rest of the day. She's a big, sturdy, hearty kid, bigger than many a year older than her. She's not fat, by any means, but she's got those DeRouchie amazon genes for sure. Tall, solid, you know?
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 11:12:55 am)

Myk Murphy:
yeah, jehovah's witnesses don't celebrate birthdays, nor do they celebrate christmas and other holidays. something having to do with shameful pride or something. they must really be a delight at dinner parties. as for sidney, check to make sure she's eating a normal amount for lunch, both at school and at home. if she's ok there, and teachers don't report that she has a lack of attention in class, then she's fine. encouraging her to eat when she doesn't require food will make her fat.
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 11:14:05 am)

Chewing Wax:
I wouldn't worry about it then. You're already ahead of the game. What good does it do if you force her to eat and she pukes?
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 11:14:44 am)

Chewing Wax:
See. Myk and I are on the same page. Whenever I see those fucking witnesses wandering around the neighborhoods bothering people I want to ask them why they don't stop wasting their time bothering people. I have a stack of old Watchtowers I hand out to them when they come by. The confusions buys me enough time to shut the door on them.
(Tue Sep 26, 2000 - 11:16:39 am)

Queenie:
See, I knew I was right! The only problem she's having in school is a lack of energy during PE, she often sits out on games. But I think that's just being lazy. You know, I never had the option to "sit it out" when I was going to school. Nor did I have computers in my classroom or posters of John and Yoko on the walls. That kid's got it good, I tell ya.
