We got about 7 inches of snow it looks like, maybe a little less than that but its melting today. My neighborhood is pretty messy but once you get into the city its not as bad. I wore my big men's snow boots to work.

Only two other times has more snow fallen this late in the season at Buffalo. The famous saint patrick's day storm of 1936 on March 17 dropped 19 inches of snow and 14.8 inches of snow fell on March 29 1954.

Check this out, my friend that lives on Avenue B sent me this email. He is insane.
Hi,
We had an electrical explosion in front of our building last night.
The
lights started flickering at 7:00, then around 8:00 we heard an
explosian
and I went to the street side and there was another one and the manhole
cover blew off and this woman screamed who almost got hit. Then there
was a
six foot high wall of flames going up into the air. It was scarry, the
firemen were coming in our building to make sure the fire wasn't
spreading
into the building. We didn't have to evacuate, I think it affected
the
buildings on the other side more, but it was scarry.
It seems like every year or so there's some event where our building is
in
danger of falling down or burning up. I'm tired of it. No wonder it's
hard
to relax and sleep at night. Poor Simon, I couldn't find him, I think
he
crammed himself between the back radiator and the wall. He finally
came out
around midnight. But, was very jumpy. He needs to live in the county
with
some old lady who raises azalias.

Well what is really retarded about the whole thing is this guy - who is one of my best friends - inherited a shit load of money in the early 90s. Everyone in his family is pretty much dead besides him and his brother so they had a rich aunt who jumped out a window and her son was already dead so they got all this money. So he moved to NYC in 1990 and i was urging him to buy an apartment. For some reason, he was too timid to buy. We looked at this space on Avenue A above Cafe Limbo - it was like a loft space and it was $60,000. I told him to buy it. He flip flopped. You know how much that would be worth now? At least a million. Such an idiot. Why rent, why throw money away on rent when you can buy. I never got that about him - he was too weird about his money , kept it wrapped up in stocks and I think he lost most of it over the past few years and he lives in the same shitty building he moved into and he has to work.

We told him to buy in Williamsburg before it got really expensive and trendy and he thought about it but wouldn't. Dope.
