Last year it got pretty cold and stayed cold. I thought it was going to be a milder winter...
(Wed Jan 14, 2004 - 4:54:25 pm)

Chewing Wax:
This has to be a fluke this cold weather. I think it will pass. What do you think about Queenie's stretch marks bela?
(Wed Jan 14, 2004 - 5:01:58 pm)

Chewing Wax:
At least I don't have to get out of bed twice a night to let the puppy outside.
(Wed Jan 14, 2004 - 5:02:51 pm)

Chewing Wax:
I've got that hound sleeping from 10:00pm until 7:00am. And then Anne lets her out, and then both dogs comes back to bed to sleep with me until I get up at 8:10 when my coffee is delivered in bed. Ahhh. I've earned it.
(Wed Jan 14, 2004 - 5:04:10 pm)

bela:
I can't see her stretch marks. She has them from having a baby perhaps?
(Wed Jan 14, 2004 - 5:04:50 pm)

bela:
Thats funny. I get up first and have to make that fat slob coffee. I let the dogs out sometimes they make a fuss and I have to get up and let them out during the night. Franco drove me nuts last night. Fidgeting around acting silly. I feel bad for Tom, in this weather he has freeze up emergencies. He worked around the clock all weekend - in the cold. He was in the Bronx, then downtown. He has to work from 9 pm til midnight tomorrow. Hes exhausted.
(Wed Jan 14, 2004 - 5:06:31 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Freeze ups. That sucks.
(Wed Jan 14, 2004 - 5:07:40 pm)

bela:
It totally sucks. He's doing a job in the Bronx and he gets a call from Chinatown - that sort of thing. I don't know how he does it. And then he has to beg to be paid.

Many expectant Chinese women are trying to delay the birth of their children until the Year of the Monkey begins next week because they think it will bring them luck, state media said on Thursday.

"They superstitiously believe that people born in the current Year of the Goat are deemed unfortunate," the China Daily newspaper said.

"Whatever the truth, one thing is for sure - Year of the Monkey babies face a competitive education and career environment because they will have many more of them around," it said, quoting the Shanghai Morning Post.

The newspaper did not say how the mothers were delaying their children's arrival.

The Year of the Monkey, one of 12 animals that make up the Lunar New Year cycle, begins on January 22.
