When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ball-point pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat this problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 million developing a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 300 C.
The Russians used a pencil.

A German brewery has developed a beer containing vitamins and minerals it says are designed to slow the aging process.
The Neuzeller Kloster Brewery plans to introduce its "Anti-Aging Bier" this year and sell it in grocery and drug stores, a spokesman for the company said.
"It tastes like beer more than it tastes like anything else," the spokesman told Reuters.
The brewery said the beer contained a host of added ingredients that promote good health.
The German Government may object to the brewery calling the drink "beer" as a law dating back to 1516 says beer brewed in Germany can only be made from barley, hops, yeast and water.

The German beer rule is sacred. They can't call it beer if its got anything other than water, hops, yeast, and malt. And I am so much hotter than Brad Pitt.

we just have cold. i saw some flurries, but they said they were hurrying up your way, so they couldn't stick around.
as for beer, the german purity law is a pain, since it prohibits them from making lambics and other cool beers like the belgians. the funny thing is that belgian beer is arguably the best in the world, yet a recent EU study suggests that they have the most polluted rivers in europe.
