(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:40:09 am)
Decoy:
I would If I could -
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:41:40 am)
Myk Murphy:
yeah, this country lacks a good pub culture. our bars just don't have that homey, lived-in feel. well, some do.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:42:48 am)
Decoy:
Right or left, I like to have a plan. You know, the vision thing - like "Mars or Bust."
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:43:01 am)
Froupie:
it doesnt really matter who you vote for anymore does it? they all turn out to be crooks.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:43:50 am)
Decoy:
Pub culture is great if it works. But we don't need any more liquor licenses until we learn some collective responsibility.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:44:17 am)
Froupie:
i only go to a pub now if it has a huge comfy sofa and no sad old men in sight.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:46:38 am)
Myk Murphy:
i thought that it was a law to have at least 3 sad old men present to keep a pub's doors open.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:49:10 am)
Myk Murphy:
meanwhile, the democrats are in total disarray. what an uninspiring group. normally, i'd tilt their way (although voting for dems in my state is a pointless act of defiance.. our electoral votes are solidly GOP).
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 11:50:27 am)
Myk Murphy:
our governor should make a presidential bid one day. pro-business, moderate democrat. our tony blair!

Froupie:

(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:05:14 pm)
Myk Murphy:
boy, that cheap punch makes me mad.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:08:53 pm)
bela:
No, it was strange, he sort of lunged at me and elbowed me really hard so it was like being hit with a stick across my arm.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:09:13 pm)
Froupie:
one time i was on a packed tube train and someone dug an umbrella into my spine, it really hurt i turned around and it was some guy in a suit smirking, i just screamed my head off at him calling him a fuckface on a packed tube, he looked very embarrassed and got off the next stop.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:12:11 pm)
Froupie:
too many sickoids out there.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:13:07 pm)
bela:
Yeah I yell at people too. My sister is psyco and yells at people all the time shes going to get into trouble. She got in a fight with this trendy restaurant owner because he was treating the waitress like shit so my sister went up to him while he was on the phone and interupted his call. The guy was a total jerk to her and she told him he was an asshole for treating his staff like that - especially in front of customers. Heh.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:14:09 pm)
Froupie:
it takes a lot for me to yell, but i will if pushed. people take the piss you have to stand up for yourself.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:15:02 pm)
bela:
I've waitressed enough to know that it totally sucks to be treated like shit from customers, but to be totally treated like shit from the owners is so much more of a drag.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:15:58 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i like your sister.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:16:12 pm)
Froupie:
i waitressed once, in france when i was 18. i was completely hopeless although i got fed, i got everything wrong and they only had about 10 things on the menu. fun.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:18:21 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i was a waiter for almost a week, after a 2 week training period. i hated it. providing that kind of service to people is awful, but i think it has made me a better customer.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:18:47 pm)
Froupie:
i couldnt do it, i can't handle too much stress.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:19:31 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i've worked in a bar/restaurant doing everything from busboy to barback stuff, but waiting tables was off my list.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:21:19 pm)
Myk Murphy:
yeah, the short term stress is great for some, awful for others.
(Fri Jan 9, 2004 - 12:21:35 pm)
Froupie:
