I mean there are places that are all vintage in Manhattan and those places are expensive. Then there are these sort of hip second hand places around that expensive, but Beacon't Closet is the most popular and its pretty cheap. I've found a lot of stuff there - you have to have the eye. I got a brand new - I mean never worn - pair of Dries Van Noten black pointy toe kitten heel shoes there for $25. I'm sure whoever bought them paid at least $200 at Henri Bendell or Barney's. I got a brand new black DNYK cashmere cardigan there for $8, I got a brand new pair of helmut Lang jeans there for $8 but they were too narrow for me so I gave them to a friend.

The flea markets around 23rd Street and 6th Avenue may be what you're talking about. All the vendors on the weekend selling antiques and whatnot.
(Thu Dec 4, 2003 - 12:52:36 pm)

(Thu Dec 4, 2003 - 2:56:48 pm)

My outfit is a little crazy today. My green boots and this plaid wool a-line skirt that has maroon and olive green and gold colors and a cream colored tshirt with a horse print with a bright red cardigan. I love it, all the colors come together. Tom even said it looked good - I had to ask but he said "uh, yeah that looks good." Hes so useless.
