So far, the effort to persuade the French to clean up after their dogs is long-standing - and an abysmal failure. Despite new laws, the sidewalks of France's major cities remain pungent minefields of canine excrement.

(Sun Nov 16, 2003 - 7:01:16 am)
Decoy:
Queen Elizabeth will never allow Charles to ascend, even if she has to live to be 100. The ultimate product of her clever breeding program is Harry - the future King.

Decoy:
Wow - our local paper made those allegations as well, but in the context of our county exec race - which was won by a white woman over the city mayor - a black man. About the vote being racist. How retarded are the people that write for media? Fuck all that. This is a city/ non-city issue. One way to look at it as that peple look at the cities as a failure - that we've succeeded in concentating all the lost souls and entitlement victims in the urban centers so that we can administer programs to them and the rich folk have moved out. And then the other follows back to Thomas Jefferson and the virtuous agrarian democracy. The self determined should be allowed to move out of the city and do what they want and subsequently vote for what they feel is best. I agree that if they have the means, go. Suburban America is one thing, but what about rural America? In my decidedly rural town we pay WAY more taxes than any city folk and they end up with most of our tax dollars anyway. I wonder what the city tax roll pays into the pile as a whole - if its more or less than the other metro contribution. Locally, I see the Democrats spending money they don't have yet. There should be a law that says you have to raise taxes the year before you plan to spend the money, get it in the bank and then make the budget. Deficits might be contained to emergency siuations then. And the election would cycle through before the money gets spent and then voters/payers could vote implicitly on that tax increase and keep or replace the taxing politicians. That seems fair, though we have been brainwashed into expecting taxes to not be fair. Its pretty serious to suggest that an election result is racist nowadays. Especially in Rochester, NY.

They have to win this one. The question is how many touchdowns will the defense need to score to win the game?

I'll never vote for a tax raise or tax continuation again. NEVER. they're so wasteful with money, it's incredible. if these were private citizens, they would be in prison or something.
(Sun Nov 16, 2003 - 10:59:20 am)
Froupie:
decoy is quite right, charles will never ascend to the throne, he would be a feeble monarch, a valet even has to tuck his teddy bear in for him at beddybyes.
(Sun Nov 16, 2003 - 1:05:02 pm)
Froupie:
with any luck, by the time lizzie kicks the bucket the monarchy will be abolished. what a waste of space that bunch are.
(Sun Nov 16, 2003 - 1:06:07 pm)

Sleepy:
Hello. Saw a very good film programme yesterday called Videos That Rock - essentially, interesting rock/pop videos on the big screen and played loudly for an hour and a half. What fun. Beforehand there was a skateboard film on and when the audience left, many were carrying skateboards. Where did they put them? Did they buy seats for their little wooden friends?
(Sun Nov 16, 2003 - 3:21:33 pm)
Heruka:
I dunno about them, but I keep my little wooden friend in my pants.
