Queenie:
I should be working. But I don't wanna.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 3:37:33 pm)
Mrs Dr GB:
That's exactly what our builders say, all the fucking live-long day.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 3:52:31 pm)
Myk Murphy:
Too many leaves to rake, and it's not a gas blower.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 4:13:09 pm)
Myk Murphy:
I live in a forest.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 4:13:55 pm)
Myk Murphy:
now that i'm home, i think i'll head to the backyard and fire up the "queenie enrager" device. those poor leaves won't know what hit 'em.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 4:57:07 pm)
Queenie:
bela i wish you were here to critique my outfit. i'm meeting a lady at a theater I want to lease and I want to make a good impression.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 5:00:54 pm)
bela:
Those kooky theatre people don't know anything about clothes. Don't worry.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 5:07:20 pm)
Queenie:
that's an excellent point.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 5:09:06 pm)
Queenie:
I wish you could see the shoes. They're amazingly great.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 5:09:21 pm)
Queenie:
changed my mind. going with pants. chocolate brown flares.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 5:23:43 pm)
Sleepy:
Finally I have ordered a DVD player. In black. So cool. Ha.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 6:36:23 pm)
Spam and Eggs:
Congratulations on going a whole year without updating the picture on the home page!!!
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 7:17:55 pm)
Heruka:
welcome to 1998, Sleepy.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 8:40:25 pm)
Myk Murphy:
seasons change... being accurate 25% of the time isn't too bad.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 8:41:58 pm)
Myk Murphy:
always a charmer, H.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 8:43:31 pm)
Heruka:
whoa, Myk. you must sit and wait for me to post.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 8:43:34 pm)
Heruka:
I got a raise and a promotion today. I'm now in charge of 10 people. they really like me there. it's my German work ethic. shame I'm actually quitting next year. this could be a very good opportunity for me.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 8:45:11 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i know... it's really creepy how that happens. i'll often be in mid-post writing when you post. of course, i can't know that until i post... all the creepier!
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 8:57:11 pm)
Myk Murphy:
you're in the management ranks, h? i'm afraid that you've officially sold out.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 8:57:55 pm)
Heruka:
no management. just have some people I need to oversee.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 9:22:09 pm)
Myk Murphy:
yup. that's management. sold. out. no boat. no hike through asia.
all kidding aside, glad to hear that you're climbing the food chain.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 9:26:07 pm)
Heruka:
it's only for a short while. when we get back, I still want to do my own thing. like I was before, and still am part time. but I want to take it seriously. I hate working for other people. there's no shame in it I suppose, but I just hate it.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 9:38:46 pm)
Myk Murphy:
yes, there's shame in working for others. terrible shame. unspeakable shame. i shan't speak of it further.
actually, working for others is quite convenient, from a healthcare insurance perspective. taxwise, too.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 9:46:58 pm)
Heruka:
I like the idea of being able to fend for myself. to create my own life. I just want to give it a shot. that's all. beats sitting at a desk being little more than a glorified drone. I don't want to work in the shadow of someone elses existance. doing for them. I want to be the Alpha male in my world. not Mr. Bojangles in the big office or whatever.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 10:02:20 pm)
Myk Murphy:
you might be surprised to find that there are jobs, although affiliated with large firms, that give workers plenty of autonomy and challenges. jobs that require creative, independent thought. sadly, many of these jobs require the employee to wake up earlier than 11:30am on a regular basis.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 10:05:02 pm)
Heruka:
I've worked for others where the job was challenging. I want to hunt my own meat in a sense. I suppose you don't understand what I'm talking about. so its pointless to rattle on about it.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 10:07:27 pm)
Heruka:
I'm going to bed.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 10:10:06 pm)
Heruka:
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 10:10:47 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i'm fully aware of the independent drive, heruka. i'm in a business that would allow me to strike out on my own somewhat easily; i choose not to do so because my current situation is pretty cool... i like to gamble when the odds favor me more, or when i have less to lose.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 10:11:57 pm)
Myk Murphy:
now that cracks me up. it's gonna take time to get that image of kermit out of my head. miss piggy must be feeling rather jilted.
(Mon Nov 3, 2003 - 10:14:06 pm)
Queenie:
Congratulations on your raise Heruka. You company man.
(Tue Nov 4, 2003 - 12:44:55 am)
