We have norther lights, and they're spectacular. The whole NE sky. Pink with orange streaks streatching from the azimuth down to a green blue flowing base. A living rainbow of dancing color. WOW!!!

The body of the light moved straight overhead, appearing as a nexus with light flowing in from all points over the shimmering dome of the night. Its like looking up into the tail of a comet from directly behind. The flowing ribbons of light are weaving through thousands of miles of sky, white, pink, blue and orange meeting overhead in a mute dance of electric life. WIth the plasma and excited protons and random beauty of mother nature's paintbox and the hey hey hey.

Japan Loses 2nd Satellite to Solar Flare
(AP) - Japanese space agency officials, already forced to temporarily shut down one satellite, said Thursday they had lost contact with a second satellite that may have been affected by an electromagnetic storm caused by the largest solar flare observed in decades. "We have completely lost touch with the Midori 2, and don't know what's going on with it," said Junichi Moriuma, a spokesman for the agency, known as JAXA. He said the agency is trying to restore communications.
