I probably won't do anything Holloween. Maybe I'll go get a drink at Mertropolitan. I kind of like to lock myself in the house, and stay away from the eggs. Maybe we'll watch Carrie or The Excorcist. I know I'll leave early to avoid the parade madness around this neighborhood.

I was just feeling so sleepy. I went to the candy machine but they only had Chuckles®. I bought them anyway, but they're kind of stale. Probably, because no one likes them.

VANCOUVER (CP) - J.P. Morgan Chase said it will cut costs by opening an 850-person call centre in suburban Surrey, B.C., after laying off 1,000 people Monday at a similar New York operation.

"It will lower operating costs," said Kristin Batteria, a spokeswoman for the bank. Surrey's big selling point, she said, was that it would give the company a western time zone location. "We selected it for the new site because of the West Coast time zone and its deep labour pool," she said. "We look forward to opening for business early next year."

Hiring will start sometime in January with April set as the goal for opening the centre, which will support J.P. Morgan's credit card business run under the Chase brand.
