Sleepy:
Must not forget that the clocks go back tonight. Must not forget. Talking of cats, I love the cat who lives downstairs. He is excellent. He bounds across the lawn towards me so that I can mulch his little head.

Sleepy:
I saw a cute little boy of about two on the train the other day. His mum and dad were sitting either side of him and he sat bolt upright with one of his little mittened hands on his mother's knee and the other little mittened hand on his dad's knee and he looked at me as if to say "These two are mine".

I'm 99% certain that I saw Eddie Izzard driving a sportscar in my home town the other day. How... local.

which is cooler:
spending 6 months sailing the pacific and visiting far off islands, which means spending several days up to a month sailing to reach somewhere,
or,
spending 6 months and driving a motor scooter across Asia? which means maybe spending a month in India, buying motor scoters i Burma, and spending several months cruising from Burma through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and eventually ending up in Shanhai. then [erhaps making a stop-over in Japan on the way home.

alt:
I think the sailing sounds best..although Id like to get some thai stick ..so Id probably do the asian trip

Do the sea. seems safer.

Myk Murphy:
do that land trip, heruka. that would be an amazing experience. bertha is up for such an adventuresome trip? cool. mrs murphy wouldn't go to southeast asia for any reason. she likes the more developed parts of the world.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 11:28:19 am)
Heruka:
yeah, we're still going sailing. but not which was first drawn up. we're leaving in probably July of next year, spending some time on the east coast, then heading south in the winter. but we're not going through the Panama Canal. too much trouble and I want to see Antigua race week in Antigua in April. what we're going to do probably, is come back up afetr Antigua, taking the offshore route, Turks and Caicos to Bermuda to Newport RI, then come back into the great lakes for the summer. then in the fall we'll tralior the boat out west and do the Baja-Ha-Ha, which is in October, it's from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas. then w'll continue heading south until Acpulco, then make the leap to the Marquases.
we may hit south America on the first leg. but the problem is, there's a whle lot of nothing between the eastern carribean and the galopagos that I have no interest in. and neither does Bertha. she's more prone to hanging out in civilization.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 11:39:04 am)
Heruka:
I dunno. I've only ran it by her. we haven't disussed things in great detail yet. but it's my understanding, thet Asia is very safe.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 11:40:41 am)
Heruka:
we could always do the Asia trip at a later date. but the sailing thing would have to be done now, me thinks.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 11:42:44 am)
Heruka:
the first part is definately a 'go'. though. make no mistake about it.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 11:44:23 am)
Froupie:
everyone i know who's been to india has returned sick as a dog.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 12:52:20 pm)
Froupie:
both trips will be cool, just don't "slum it" in asia, stay in nice hotels and drink bottled water.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 12:55:25 pm)
Froupie:
the weird czech film was great. a man rents a cat from a cat rental shop only to find it has disappeared the next day when he tries to return the cat. a stalinist rant seemed to be bubbling under the absurd storyline. very kafka-esque. me liked it very mucho.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 12:58:59 pm)
Myk Murphy:
a cat rental shop. brilliant.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 1:10:33 pm)
Heruka:
we cannot afford to stay 6 months in nice hotels.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 1:27:30 pm)
Heruka:
my bro goes over to India once a year. although not every year. he's always been fine. he stays next door to a Jihad recruitment camp in Bangalore.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 1:28:51 pm)
Heruka:
I can get pics posted of the camp if you want. I keep wanting to go with him. but it's never materialized.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 1:29:30 pm)
Heruka:
in the end we'll probably just weekend in Niagra Falls I bet. on the American side even, ugh!

Asia will consume you up with disease. Unless you are on a hobby trip of finding the next Flu.. "Avoid it" tattoo it on your brain. SARs . Safe?? It's where the pirates of the South China sea are born.

Detlef Sping:
Have you gone INSANE?
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 1:54:50 pm)
Detlef Sping:
spending 6 months sailing the pacific and visiting far off islands sounds like a better idea.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 1:55:41 pm)
Detlef Sping:
India is interesting in it's monkey partnership, river soup history and great if you dont touch anything or breathe the air. Auf.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 1:59:57 pm)
Heruka:
somehow I doubt Bertha will want to sleepn a thin mat with bugs crawling on her face at night anyhow. but considering we're taking this much time off, must consider all possibilities.
(Sun Oct 26, 2003 - 2:53:27 pm)
Heruka:
here ya go, Myk.

while I really don't care, it shows a siginifcant movement in europe by europeans to become more Islamic friendly. it's happening in France on a large scale.
