Worth the Price
By PATRICK E. TYLER

AGHDAD, Iraq, Sept. 23 — After five months of foreign military occupation and the ouster of Saddam Hussein, nearly two-thirds of Baghdad residents believe that the removal of the Iraqi dictator has been worth the hardships they have been forced to endure, a new Gallup poll shows.

Chewing Wax:

(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:18:21 am)

Chewing Wax:
Man was I jonesing for coffee. I had to go to a coffee shop. Buffalo is becoming Seattle east. Coffee coffee everywhere. Who cares? I just need some.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:19:24 am)

Chewing Wax:
$2.15 for a large regular black coffee. Is that a lot? This looks like a 20oz cup.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:20:15 am)

Froupie:
it costs £1.79 for a tall latte in tarbucks here. i have to have decaf now too.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:21:27 am)

Froupie:
starbucks.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:21:43 am)

Froupie:
plus they also stick the brownies and cakes in the way of the till.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:23:24 am)

Decoy:
Yeah, but would you pay the expresso tax? I mean ... its for the children, for goodness's sake.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:28:25 am)

Chewing Wax:
I won't go to the Starbucks. Fucking out of towners.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:28:35 am)

Decoy:
Decaf, eh? Are you a heart patient or something?
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:29:05 am)

Froupie:

(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:29:50 am)

Decoy:
Indeed, we went to Canaltown Coffee Roasters before church on Sunday. Just delightful. The Starbucks around the corner was packed, just depressing.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:29:52 am)

Froupie:
we don't get that much choice here.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:30:26 am)

Chewing Wax:
Also you don't have that need to support local business in London.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:31:21 am)

Froupie:
not in central london anyway. and it's getting that way further out now. i'm really starting to hate this place.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:32:16 am)

Decoy:
Well, there's only two in Pittsford. The locals and the Starbucks. They're identical in food offerings with the scones and the croissants and cookies, the cakes, brownies, and turnovers with the apple filling and the hey hey hey ...
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:33:27 am)

bela:
I buy coffee beans at this place on 9th Avenue near my work. Pretty good coffee and its only $6 a pound.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:34:56 am)

Decoy:
Wow, 9-10 bucks a pound is the norm here. And that's Wegmans. THe coffee shops are up to 12 and 14 some places. I hate crap flavoured coffee though anyway. Give me Columbian or City Roast, keep it simple. And black, please.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:36:55 am)

Froupie:
apple crumble cheesecake.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:40:27 am)

Beer, is there nothing it can't do?:
Abdominal fat, also called "central adiposity," is measured by abdominal height. The type of alcohol that's consumed seems to contribute differently to the accumulation of abdominal fat. Wine drinkers have the least abdominal fat, while liquor drinkers have the highest. Beer isn't associated with central adiposity.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:42:29 am)

Decoy:
Apple crumble CHEESECAKE. Holy Crap. Or not.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:43:11 am)

Froupie:
is the world coming to an end? it feels like it lately.
(Wed Sep 24, 2003 - 10:46:22 am)

bela:
