Queenie:
So England is frying, eh? I heard that great Richard Quest or whatever his name is from CNN reporting on the heat, then he took his pants off. I love that guy.
(Fri Aug 8, 2003 - 8:20:52 pm)

Heruka:
it's not even hot over there. like 105 or something. they should move to Phoenix or something.

Decoy:
So much for my long-cherished lesbian fantasy. Goodbye for ever. Of course they don't look like Swedish twins.
(Sat Aug 9, 2003 - 9:41:13 am)

Decoy:
Ok, so we made it. We got to the show, sat down and thirty seconds later Dylan went on. It was the best Dylan show I've everr seen. Actually, for the most part, he was better than the Dead.

Here's Bob's set list and his sit-in with the Dead:

1.Maggie's Farm (Bob on piano)
2.Love Minus Zero/No Limit (Bob on piano and harp)
3.Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum (Bob on piano)
4.Mr. Tamborine Man (acoustic)(Bob on piano and harp)
5.Highway 61 Revisited (Bob on piano, Bob Weir on guitar)
6.This Wheel's On Fire (Bob on piano and harp)
7.Cold Irons Bound (Bob on piano)
8.Positively 4th Street (Bob on piano and harp, Bob Weir on guitar)
9.Honest With Me (Bob on piano, Larry on slide guitar, Bob Weir on guitar)
10.Summer Days (Bob on piano, Tony on standup bass, Bob Weir on guitar)

(encore)
11.Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 (Bob on piano and harp, Bob Weir on guitar)

(Dead Set with Bob sitting in)
1.Tangled Up In Blue
2.It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry
3.West LA Fadeaway
4.Alabama Getaway

The Dead's Set list was another matter for memory.

set 1 ~ jam>music never stopped, casey jones, tangled up in blue, a lot to laugh a train to cry, west la fadeaway, alabama getaway, no more do i>jam>scarlet begonias>fire on the mountain
set 2 ~ jam>mason's children>jam>peggy-o>jam>reuben & cerise>drums (six flags fireworks & laser light show)>days between>throwing stones>midnight hour>we've come for your liver
(Encore)
Help On the Way-> Slipknot->Franklin's Tower

The Dead show had its slow inderminable part that drove you crazy with the boredome, but don't they always. Itw a perfect night weather wise with cooling temps and light misty drizzle at a few points that felt good. 22oz beers were $7 and pint bottles were $6. And the bathroom lines were longer for the guys than the girls. It took 2 hours to get there a.nd 50 minutes to get home. We got home at 1.30AM

Chewing Wax:
Yeh well, I took route 20 home and had to dodge two police road blocks. It took me 50 minutes to get home too. But no worries. Now it's off to pick up the pooches.
(Sat Aug 9, 2003 - 10:15:19 am)

Sleepy:
Hello. It's too hot here. If I wanted this kind of heat, I'd live in Brazil. The spiders here are mutating, I'm sure of it. They are massive. Really long legs. Supermodel spiders.

Sleepy:
Dylan and the Dead, eh?

I start a new job on Monday. How exciting.
(Sat Aug 9, 2003 - 11:41:11 am)

Heruka:
that is. congrats.

Heruka:
Cushca needs work too. perhaps you can pull a few strings.
(Sat Aug 9, 2003 - 12:33:12 pm)

Decoy:
Yah Sleepy, that's good. How long has it been?
(Sat Aug 9, 2003 - 1:17:14 pm)

Decoy:
Route 20 was the fast way, even though it looks longer. Can you imagine the line to get on I90 at exit 47 last night? Forget that.
(Sat Aug 9, 2003 - 1:18:18 pm)

Myk Murphy:
a new job for sleepy! hooray! i hope it allows for ample lounge time, although the trick is to become irreplaceable before lounging too much. that dylan/dead show sounds good. last time i saw them, jerry only had a few months left, but of course, no one knew that at the time.

(Sat Aug 9, 2003 - 4:20:31 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i guess i'll make a silly suggestion to alt: go find people who like to do the same things, and socialize with them regularly. while i'm not feeling that lonely, i am kinda bummed that my 2 closest friends live a couple hours away. my bandmates are local and they keep me sane, but that's about it.

ah, that's it: join a band, even if it's more like a social group.
(Sat Aug 9, 2003 - 6:24:02 pm)

Heruka:
you can be like me,and have no friends at all. well, no "friends" in a teenage sense of the word. you know, the kind you hang out with a lot. and go to the mall to be slapped by teenybopper girlies.

you can still hang out with friends when you're older, but life makes it more difficult, with the out-of-town friends and the friends with kids and you don't have them yet and the sometimes awkward hey hey hey...
