Beaverland:
PORTLAND, Oregon (AP) -- In this congenitally dog-friendly city, where dogs once roamed free in city parks, someone is taking a debate over leash laws to a sinister level: Eight dogs have died, reportedly from eating poisoned sausage left in a park, and eight others have taken sick.

Queenie:
yah the dog poisoning is big news around here. it's scary, cause my friend walks her chows in that park.
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 3:02:28 pm)
Chewing Wax:
That's some sick twisted fucker. But you have to admit, it's working.

Queenie:
yeah but it's a park that's sort of known as this place where dogs can run and play. everyone takes their dogs there. dogs who live in apartments or whatever need to be able to run around. if you don't want to go to a park full of dogs, you go to another park. it's just sort of understood. I can't believe someone's being such a dick about it.

Decoy:
Maybe apartment dogs should be little and country dogs should be big. I know there's nothing so beautiful as my Labradors running full tilt across my land. Of course I'd prefer that they stop eventually, but they don't have to. What was my point?
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 4:09:11 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Your point?
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 4:11:10 pm)
Queenie:
Even little dogs need to run free in the grass.
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 4:12:22 pm)
Decoy:
Thats it, thanks. Yeah, but they're not objectionable because they make tiny little poops.

Myk Murphy:
god help the person who poisons a pet i love. i hope someone kills that bastard.
as for the vonnegut ref, q, yup... i'm with you on that. can't remember which book that was, though. i read them all in a relatively short time. i wish he was less suicidal and more prolific. that would be nice.

Queenie:
breakfast of champions.
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 8:14:59 pm)
Queenie:
had those great sharpie looking illustrations in it of the wide open beavers, remember that? heh. vonnegut rules.

:
Are you nuts?
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 9:49:18 pm)
Myk Murphy:
yup, that was it. breakfast of champions. nice. yes... when i recalled the phrase, i was forced to remember his beaver and asshole drawings. wildly funny.

i wonder where my copy is.... i have old used copies of quite a few of 'em. i have 2 copies of galapagos, if anyone needs one. 2 of 'god bless you, mr rosewater', too. this is what happens when you go into a used bookstore and you don't remember what you own.

Heruka:
I have some old books for sale. albums and posters too. I'm liquidating 85% of my worldy possessions items.
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 10:45:46 pm)
Heruka:
I got stung by a bee and now my hand is completely swollen. we bought tix to the cleveland buffalo game on August 2nd .
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 10:52:12 pm)
Myk Murphy:
a heruka liquidation? i'll take the church albums and stuff. thanks in advance. bees are a pain in the ass, unless it's your hand.
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 11:08:26 pm)
Heruka:
yeah, except for a few items, my antique furniture mainly, and books on boats, everything must go.
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 11:23:52 pm)
Myk Murphy:
wow, that's a tough decision. is this all part of the big move? or the wedding specifically?
(Fri Jul 18, 2003 - 11:40:38 pm)
Heruka:
part of the big move. I don't want to put anything like this stuff in storage. I'm moving into a new chapter of my life. it's sad. some of those album I searched for years to find. pre ebay mind you. and now, I'll put them up on ebay and get next to nothing for them
(Sat Jul 19, 2003 - 12:05:22 am)
Myk Murphy:
are you sure that you have to sell it all? music comes in nice flat packaging.... it all ships and stores pretty well. i'll highly recommend marriage, but i don't think my musical collection or musical tastes changed when i got hitched.
have you figured out exactly where you're going? to bertha's place, first?
(Sat Jul 19, 2003 - 12:34:05 am)
Myk Murphy:

(Sat Jul 19, 2003 - 12:37:22 am)
Heruka:

(Sat Jul 19, 2003 - 1:09:02 am)
Heruka:

(Sat Jul 19, 2003 - 1:09:29 am)
Herka:
i just feel bogged wdown with everything, yaknow? too muc 'stuff'. I hate that feeling. the feeling that this 'stuff' actually matters. it dioesn't.
(Sat Jul 19, 2003 - 1:30:24 am)
Herka:
the world will be ending from nuclear war, and I'll be holding onto my' stuff'.
(Sat Jul 19, 2003 - 1:33:30 am)
