i just watched an interesting bio on margaret thatcher's political life. it cleared up a few things on events surrounding the tory coup that ousted her. it may be fashionable to despise her, but i groan to think of the sorry economic shape great britain would be in if she hadn't started the privitization movement. i also wonder just how integrated britain would be with the EU today. but boy, to her shame, how she labored (pun intended) to destroy the tory party who ousted her. it's really no wonder that they've yet to recover.

is there some sort of requirement that, if you sell on ebay, you must be sub-literate? honestly, it's depressing. my favorite was the one i just encountered: he had to make all plural words with a possessive angle... "items" became "item's".... but he did this for every single instance of plurality. at least 15 instances, i think.
this may sound elitist or something like that, but it's irritating to see. of course, i'm too goddamn lazy to capitalize my sentences, so i'm no better.

A woman set her Madrid home on fire Wednesday as she cooked up a potion in an attempt to imitate the fictional wizard Harry Potter, emergency services said.
The 21-year-old was rescued by firemen and treated for minor injuries, but half her home was destroyed.
The ambulance service said she had told them she was trying to emulate the boy magician, hero of the books by J K Rowling that have been a sensation among adults and children alike.
For want of more magical ingredients, the woman cooked up a potion of water, oil, alcohol and toothpaste, local media reported. It was unclear what spell she was trying to weave.
