(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:32:08 pm)

(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:33:40 pm)
Froupie:

(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:33:53 pm)
Froupie:
god that is bizarre. corinne road rings a bell. what is the story?
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:34:20 pm)
Decoy:
Queenie, might you live in a fantasy land where you are the center of the universe and everything is about you. The point is to not live outside your means.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:35:03 pm)
Froupie:
corinne road is not in a fantasy land decoy, it's in tufnell park.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:36:29 pm)
Decoy:
Mmmm, how's the parking?
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:37:02 pm)
Froupie:
god yeah, tufnell park. those were the days. i had blue hair then.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:37:35 pm)
Queenie:
It is all about me. Geez.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:39:46 pm)
Decoy:
In college I knew an English guy who had blue hair, his name was Taff.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:39:54 pm)
Froupie:
taffy from tufnell park?
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:40:18 pm)
Queenie:
Decoy I want your honest opinion on this situation cause you're levelheaded.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:40:22 pm)
Queenie:
cold hard cash or benefits?
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:40:36 pm)
Decoy:
Give me the executive summary.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:40:54 pm)
Decoy:
More than that.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:41:29 pm)
Queenie:
Job A has a lower base pay but mad benefits, including medical, dental, and optical; potential for advancement and a program to pay for continuing education.
Job B has more cold hard cash potential but no benefits.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:42:30 pm)
Heruka:
levelheaded? then I'll give you mine if like a levelheaded opinion.
Buy a van and a small camper. an Airstream. the stainless steel ones that are shaped like a twinkie. Stock up on food and water. enough to last at least three years. then pull the camper out into the middle of the desert and wait for the bg war to happen.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:42:55 pm)
Queenie:
correction -- job A has a higher base pay but no bonus potential.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:43:16 pm)
Queenie:
I prefer the little round mickey mouse-style campers myself.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:43:50 pm)
Froupie:
i'm liking the sound of the twinkies.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:44:23 pm)
Queenie:
The bonus potential of job B is a very real thing -- he grossed HUGE this week, and that's with missing two days and one day still left in the week.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:44:55 pm)
Queenie:
Factor in the income I'll have in a month -- a few hundred more a week, but the added expense of a car and childcare.
I swear it's no-win.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:46:10 pm)
Froupie:
is it such a good idea to be out in the middle of the desert when the big war starts? wouldn't it be better to hide in a cave?
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:46:16 pm)
Heruka:
home sweet home.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:46:18 pm)
Queenie:
bela sez go for the benefits, and I would tend to agree for lots of reasons, but then I'd be worried we'd still be struggling to pay the basic bills.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:46:58 pm)
Chewing Wax:
That's a beauty
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:47:09 pm)
Queenie:
that's a gorgeous camper for sure!!
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:47:09 pm)
Froupie:
you're right, the big war wouldn't get through that truck.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:47:35 pm)
Queenie:
I forgot to mention that job A has a one month "sabbatical" to all employees after a few years of working there. And don't forget the nap rooms.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:48:03 pm)
Froupie:
you're gonna need to buy an elephant to pull that thing.
(Thu May 15, 2003 - 12:48:33 pm)
Decoy:
Bonuses arent guaranteed, They depend on business climate. The economy is flaky right now. I'd make sure you are taken care of with the stability factor and benefits right now. You can always go for a pie in the sky opportunity.
