Myk Murphy:
wax! ha! post of the day, 3:18:00pm EDT!
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:19:11 pm)
Queenie:
No joke.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:19:50 pm)
Dr GB:
Brutal realities? Gang banging? You're not the ticket. Really.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:20:12 pm)
Queenie:
If you go to the archive and look at the fountain pic, you will see that it has changed!
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:20:36 pm)
Queenie:
You're losing me with your lingo there. Not sure what you mean by that.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:21:05 pm)
Myk Murphy:
so she's 17 now? has she lost some of her innocence? i recall you were discussing with her some... umm... amorous activities. has she tried these things yet? just curious.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:21:13 pm)
Dr GB:
I mean you're not right in the head. If you think gang-banging is a harsh reality.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:22:00 pm)
Queenie:
See, Ruthie (Emily's character) is the sacrafice. She is the ultimate casuality of the basic principle on which the film is based. She doesn't really die, though. She is only left for dead, but she comes back. See, I just ruined the ending for you!
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:22:39 pm)
Myk Murphy:
well, the yakuza really know how to have a good time. this thing isn't set in portland, is it?
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:22:47 pm)
Queenie:
Well it certainly isn't a pleasant reality...right???
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:23:14 pm)
Queenie:
We never actually SAY where we are, we just refer to "the city". I don't think there's any Yakuza here.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:23:52 pm)
Queenie:
Think I should hire a bodyguard, just in case?
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:24:31 pm)
Myk Murphy:
no, certainly not pleasant, not even in our harshest cities. des moines, for example.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:24:34 pm)
Myk Murphy:
ken's a big boy, he'll look out for you.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:24:51 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Des Moines. Perfect example.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:25:09 pm)
Myk Murphy:
queenie never answered my question about her lead actress. her adoring public has the right to know!
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:28:33 pm)
Queenie:
Ruthie's sister Frank is the example of how The Principle can go 180 degrees in the opposite direction. If being Frank is a war, then Ruthie lost. But Frank himself...he wins. Or something. Man, I'm bad at describing this...it's just so elusive and hard to put into words!! god help me when I have to pitch this to someone.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:30:00 pm)
Queenie:
Oh, sorry Myk...Didn't see it till just now...If you must know, her "innocence" is still intact! Of course, I haven't talked to her in a week...
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:31:09 pm)
Queenie:
My definition of "being Frank": A Frank is a square peg in a round world. A Frank has outrageous dreams without even realizing their outrageousness. A Frank is an artist and an underdog. And a Frank most certainly doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground most of the time. And although he gets kicked down again and again, a Frank keeps trying because he has no choice.
To quote from the script: "So when the dreary fight for survival is weighed against pies lofted into the sky long ago, the results can be beautiful, hilarious, and bloody awful...we all lived the samestory in endless forms mostbeautiful and damned."
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:37:02 pm)
Queenie:
Now if I could just get that shaved down to one sentence, I'd be ready to pitch!
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:37:39 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Frankly, I'm stunned.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:38:56 pm)
Myk Murphy:
a lot can happen in a week.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:40:08 pm)
Myk Murphy:
wow, i'll go see that film. twice.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:41:01 pm)
Chewing Wax:
yes
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:41:02 pm)
Myk Murphy:
for the american art-house film crowd, the pitch should be something like: "Guns! Tits! Guns! Ass!"
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:42:14 pm)
Queenie:
Thanks, guys! That means a lot!
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:46:43 pm)
:
a ballpark weiner of a movie.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:46:57 pm)
Chewing Wax:

(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:49:23 pm)
Myk Murphy:

(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:52:33 pm)
Chewing Wax:
You too Myk. Take it easy.
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:53:32 pm)
Queenie:
"Frank" references made in the film: Frank Zappa, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Frank N. Furter from Rocky Horror Picture Show, Frank Black, of course Tom Waits' Frank, and many many more!
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:53:47 pm)
Queenie:
Bye Myk!
(Fri Jun 2, 2000 - 3:53:56 pm)
