(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 3:57:51 pm)
Queenie:

(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 3:59:06 pm)
Queenie:
stupid oregon liquor control commission. they had their bi-monthly public forum today and we were all there in force and everyone spoke about our cause and these four dangerously right wing christian fuckheads, who control the destiny of everyone, just sat there staring blankly at us, not giving a shit at all about what we were saying. they'll never overturn that rule. assholes.

I am dreaming of happy pandas, a whole field of happy pandas, I am beside myself, I am entirely myself, I am going to set myself on fire, just you wait and see.

Froupie:
oh no, some kids down the street found an abandoned kitten. they asked me if i wanted to adopt it, i feel bad about saying no. it was so little and cute.

Froupie:

Queenie:
This one woman commissioner asked the union prez guy, "before this ruling, what did the minor entertainers do in bars when they weren't on stage?" She didn't even know. She didn't know their own guidelines.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:02:58 pm)
Heruka:
that's funny.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:04:57 pm)
bela:
Sugar coma.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:13:27 pm)
Heruka:
see, you're not a voter. they can sense that.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:13:31 pm)
Queenie:
oh my god. so i'm doing this five page short film in a couple of weeks and everything was all set to go, and the one actor's girlfriend decided that she doesn't want her boyfriend to kiss another girl, so now the whole things got to be fucking reworked. I fucking hate that.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:13:38 pm)
Heruka:
I am really bored. I have to work tonight. Much to do.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:13:57 pm)
Queenie:
that's the thing, H, they don't work that way. There is no voting process involved in anything this commission does. they just make decisions on behalf of everyone, it's so fucked.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:14:23 pm)
Heruka:
that's why they're not taking you seriously. cause you don't vote. and you have no power or anything like that. so take them to court. if it's illegal, then you'll win.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:16:02 pm)
Queenie:
the one woman was like, "I have a 12 year old. I don't want him in a drinking environment". That was their whole argument. We had musicians of every age talking about how they started out as 14 year olds in bars with old famous jazz guys, we had parents, we had the union guy, we had a million and one arguments for our position. And this lady was like a broken record with, "I get calls from concerned parents. They don't their children in a drinking environment". It seems to me that that solution is simple -- if you don't want them there, DON'T LET THEM GO.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:16:07 pm)
Queenie:
it was so frustrating. we all just felt so enraged and impotent.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:16:55 pm)
Queenie:
just as many parents DO want their 18 year old prodigy kids to be able to school with 70 year old jazz guys. Who wouldn't? Besides that one uptight bitch, that is.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:18:03 pm)
Froupie:
shes probbly got a 12 year old rugrat that gets pissed behind the bikesheds anyhow.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:25:43 pm)
Heruka:
Jazz sucks anyhow.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:26:37 pm)
Froupie:
i personally dont "get" jazz. but ya gotta admire those wily old dudes. theyre kinda cool.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:27:35 pm)
Froupie:
i'm off to forage for food. get another actor queenie, keanu's not busy now hes finished the matrix 3.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:29:07 pm)
Queenie:
yeah, she's like, "My 12 year old plays drums. I don't want him playing in a bar when he's 18" and I'm thinking, "how unfortunate for him". I mean, to a professional musician, those are like your college years.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:29:11 pm)
Heruka:
they want close to $1k for a complete set of drawings for my boat. Sparkman and Stephens does.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:29:31 pm)
Queenie:
and from what I understand, this kid plays drums casually. they have no concept of what it is to be a professional musician. Ok I'm going to stop ranting now.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:29:46 pm)
Queenie:
I finally saw the final trailer for the matrix 2 and just about peed my pants.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:30:19 pm)
Froupie:
what you need is a nice cup of tea.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:30:43 pm)
Heruka:
I don't think anyone should be in bars until they're 30. they're corruptable places.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:32:01 pm)
Queenie:
nah, more coffee is what I need!
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:33:18 pm)
Froupie:
it'd be like being a 12 year old drummer and your mum forbidding you to hang out with keith moon. that mother sucks.
(Thu Apr 17, 2003 - 4:34:18 pm)
Froupie:
although, he is dead. so i guess he wont be hanging out down the bar either. but still..
