I watched PBS tonigh. Something I usually don't do. But I like American Experience. It's a good show. Tonight they had on some woman who was born in Vietnam, I think to an American GI back in the war days. But I'm not sure. I miissed the beginning. Anyhow, her mother sent her to America to live when she was young. And after 22 years of no contact, she went back to Nam and tracked down her mother. After all the hubub, her Vietnamese family ended up being dirt poor. Liie living in the slums type poor. And they have somewhat communial living, the wealthy child is expected help out the mother(who was the poorest of them all) and the rest of the family. So they get around to begging for money, and she flips out. She cries and weeps and says no. Meanhwile, she's wearing a rock that has to be 2 carrots ans 2 other rings. she leaves and never writes her mother her family over there. although they write her. I suppose she would rather forget her family that basically lives on what's about $1 a year or something. I felt embarrassed and ashamed for her. She's the apitamy of American greed. Her mothers living in a shack with no plumbing or electricity and eats rice everyday. And she gets angry when they ask her for some cash. Yeah. A $100 a month would really break the bank I know. his woman actually angered me.

I don't think 'France' and 'grand' should be in the same phrase. Unless, of course, failure is also squeezed in there somehow.
