Chewing Wax:
Get this. I marinated the chicken in jerk sauce for two days. Then I browned it in peanut oil to a deep dark golden brown. Then I deglazed the pan with onions, celery and green pepper and garlic and then added the chicken and topped it off with a rum water solution for a brazing liquid and simmered it for three hours. Delicious.

that's a lot of work. I prefer to peel the plastic back off the mashed potatoes and cook on high for 8 minutes. I like jerky chicken though.

Heruka:
yeah? like the witch that cooks little children? I specialize in cooking with the toaster oven. there' nothing I can't do with that. except maybe drive it around the block. but oh well. I like cooking. and I'm good at it I think. But I only really cook for company. it's just not worth it.

Chewing Wax:
I got this pot for Christmas. It's like a $240 pot. I'm good at cooking. I have a knack.

I'm confused. I have a killer tip on a stock. Almost easy money. But I'd need to dig into the boat/trip fund to do it. If it misses it's target, I'll have to figure something else out. But I don't want to pass this up. Is it worth the risk and potentially being delayed on work and stuff for the boat? I'll have to get a second job to pay for it all. Maybe Ill end up flipping burgers.
(Thu Apr 3, 2003 - 12:54:39 am)

Heruka:
But f the stock rwally reches it's potential, I'll toss this old boaintyo the drink and by a new one.

Heruka:
That
's an intesting pot.like a roasting pot.
(Thu Apr 3, 2003 - 12:58:48 am)

Chewing Wax:
You can use it for roasting or braising. It's cast iron so it gets really hot to brown the meat.
(Thu Apr 3, 2003 - 1:00:25 am)

Heruka:
why? take something useful. Chinese or Spanish. everyone takes German or French, but they're worthless languages. I was watching cspan as I always do, they had the chinese forein guy on there, and he seemed offended by the fact that so few take chinese. I agree with him. French is so 1796.
(Thu Apr 3, 2003 - 1:01:05 am)

Heruka:
I have no cast iron cooking pots or pans.
(Thu Apr 3, 2003 - 1:01:44 am)

Chewing Wax:
There isn't a Chinese class. We need at least four students interrested to make it worth while.

Cast iron is so important. Get one and cherish one. Keep one wonderfully seasoned. It's like a good leather jacket.

I want to learn Italian because I want to go there and be able to speak the language. I think I love the Italians.
(Thu Apr 3, 2003 - 1:05:43 am)

Heruka:
I like Italians. most anyhow. There were a few I'd just like to drive a knife through their shriveled up little hearts.

Me, I'm still learning english. having problems with it too.

I'd lie to lear chinese and maori. But I won't.
