I don't even drink soda anymore. I just drink water and green tea. Boring eh? Sometimes a little gingerale.

Heruka:
I drink nothing but Pepsi and beer. I can't stop. I'm up to 2 2-liters of Pepsi a day.

bela:
Sometimes I drink Coke when I'm hungover. Tunafish sandwich with lots of onion, Cool Ranch Doritos and Coke. The best for a hangover.

Heruka:
apparently, after the total count was in, a newspaper in SF said about 75,000 people showed up for the antiwar rally. not the half million everyone was claiming. they used aerial cameras to come to this conclusion.

Heruka:
I'm going to Vegas in May. Just me. Not Bertha.

Heruka:
I don't like the theme of "anyone who disagrees with us is stupid" that flows through those things. pretty ironic and condescending. Did you see Penn and Teller this weekend? great!
(Tue Feb 25, 2003 - 3:25:02 pm)

bela:
No, I didn't.
(Tue Feb 25, 2003 - 3:27:03 pm)

bela:
I sort of know what you mean. Before the rally, everyone lyou would run in to would ask "Are you going to the rally" Presuming you were against the war - I thought that was odd.
(Tue Feb 25, 2003 - 3:28:06 pm)

Heruka:
well, if you don't support their cause, you're either misinformed or stupid. whether it's about animal rights, abortion, war or whatever. these people believe the common lies, but you're the stupid one.
(Tue Feb 25, 2003 - 3:30:56 pm)

bela:
I don't know. A lot of people asked me if I was going and you know, I just kept my mouth shut. I felt strange just saying I couldn't be bothered. I mean, really, I don't like standing outside in the cold in a crowd. Thats my least favorite thing to do - selfish, but true.

penn and teller was about smoking and the common practice of banning it everywhere. because of second hand smoke. as it turns out, the EPA poll or whatever that said there were thousands of deaths due directly to second hand smoke was a complete lie. the EPA told a lie. a and now cities and antismokers are still using this info as a means to dictate your life and how you should live it. it filled me with anger. it's the same inpolitics. whether it that horrible Bitch Clinton telling everyone that the epublicans are all racists, or the Dems still touting that George stole the election. these are complete lies, and others use these lies as a means of controlling the way society operates. I hate them all. its the socalled do gooders. they'r not doing so good.

bela:
I sort of had the feeling of what sort of asshole was I if I didn't show up. I admit, I did a little. But I usually don't care what people think so I got over that. I felt strange when that girl in the orchestra asked me when we were driving her home.

Heruka:
I think people want to make themselves feel good, and are willing to do whatever it takes to acieve this.

(Tue Feb 25, 2003 - 3:47:02 pm)

In a sign of growing anti-Semitism on the fringes of the political left, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have started an advertising campaign that equates allegedly inhuman conditions at chicken farms to the Holocaust. Here's how a PETA Web site describes the campaign:

*** QUOTE ***

PETA's thought-provoking display "Holocaust on Your Plate" spotlights this disturbing parallel by juxtaposing stomach-churning images of Jews' and animals' experiences on freestanding 8-foot panels. As observers walk around the display, they will gain an understanding of the common roots of victimization and violence and how they can help fight them through decisions that they make every time they eat
