Hello. It's Friday! I thyink mussels are in season. Is this mussel season? I've noticed them on sale for $2.99 fr tweo piounds worth. Maybe I'll make a gumbo sort of thing to eat while we watch the Browns win yet another game.

I think I'll make a grilled cheese for lunch. I have one of those hot sandwich maker things. They're cheap. $10 or something. I like to put onions and hot peppers in my grilled cheese. I have canned hot peppers, no fresh though. But the canned ones aren't too bad, Quite good actually.

new vaccine:
"This is the first time that chemotherapy and immunotherapy are combined in patients who are newly diagnosed with metastatic or advanced colorectal cancer," explaines Dr. Heinz-Josef Lenz of the University of Southern California. "I think the interesting combination is that you try with the patient's and immune system help-to control the tumor and, at the same time, you give help to kill the tumor cells with chemotherapy we know can be effective," explains Lenz. This vaccine is a therapeutic one, and unlike current therapies it has little to no side effects. Its job is to jump start the immune system of somebody who is already sick. Doctors already know that the stronger someone's immune system is, the better they respond to chemotherapy. Many people in the medical community believe that vaccines are the future of cancer treatment. So far, Bittick is proving the extinguished competitor in him is alive and well. The company that developed this vaccine is also testing it in patients with late stage melanoma or skin cancer. But there are many drug companies out there that are testing their own vaccines for different type of cancers. Once the trials are completed, the drug company will have to prove its safety and effectiveness to the Food & Drug Administration. So right now it's probably too early to predict when the vaccine will hit the market, but it's looking good for the near future.
