Heruka:

Browns and Bills are both 6-6. They both need to win every game from here on out. They're on life support, and the hospital is not paying it's electrical bill. At least tix will be cheap after another loss. Cheap tix. one of the bonuses of loving a losing team.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 6:59:04 am)
Heruka:
The Venetian. One of the best hotels on earth. If not the best. Have you been here? It's incredible.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:02:42 am)
Decoy:
When did they build that? Does it have a casino?
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:04:11 am)
Decoy:
If the Bills don't run the table, its really unlikely, for sure. The AFC is going to have a huge tie breaker to get at the wild card too. Its always best to win the division. Hopefully the Jets will choke, they swept the Bills. Division record is key.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:06:29 am)
Heruka:
98 I think. Yeah, it has a casino. it has a replica of the the canals of Venice. with gondaleers and all. it has a shopping mall inside that turns from night to day every 45 minutes. with some of the best shopping in town. it's huge inside.

Last time I was in Vegas they were starting some new construction, I wonder if that was it. That definately wasn't there then. Last time I went was for a bachelor party and now the guy is dead. 4 years ago?
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:09:25 am)
Decoy:
Its amazing how they demolish those huge hotels and build a new one, bang. They don't even blink and spending a billion dollars to do it either.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:11:12 am)
Decoy:
Las Vegas: go for the gambling, stay for the buffet.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:13:30 am)
Heruka:
yeah, the amount of money they spend on these things is amazing. Vegas is a family affair anymore of sorts. it's like Disney, only with slots and no bloody mouse.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:16:16 am)
Heruka:
they have some great steakhouses there now. the $1.99 buffetts are becoming a thing of the past.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:17:03 am)
Decoy:
True. Even I might approve of taking the kids there nowadays. They really put the hookers on the run. And the drinks are really waterered down, too. Its just so fucking hot. I try to remember that - too fucking hot.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:18:45 am)
Decoy:
The buffet lines were like the lines for rides at Disney.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:19:47 am)
Decoy:
I wouldn't go in a real Venusian canal
Hah.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:20:59 am)
Decoy:
Or a Venetian one. Venusian canals being full of sulphuric acid and benzine.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:22:11 am)
Heruka:
here's one of the malls in the hotel. the sky is fake. and every 45 minutes is goes from day to night and tall the lights come on. really neato.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:22:31 am)
Decoy:
I hope they didn't replicate the smell. But that looks cool. Is the sky projected on a dome or something?
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:24:03 am)
Heruka:
apparently the real venice's days are numbered. the motoerboats have wahsed a lot of the sail away that was under the buildings, and now the timbers that holds the buildings up are exposed now and are now beginning to rot. the soil kept them moist and oxygen free so the rotting didn't happen. oh well.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:25:36 am)
Decoy:
Take it easy, time to make breakfast for the kids. Pancakes. Later.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:26:49 am)
Heruka:
never been to venice myself. and I have no urge to go. a dome? no, not that I know of. Maybe the side were slightly curved, but I can't remember that.
(Sun Dec 8, 2002 - 7:27:04 am)
Heruka:
Adios. I'm heading in for a nap.

bela:
I want to stay at the Venetian Hotel if we have to go to Vegas next year. I've been to Venice though, what a friggin blast we had. It was crazy. My friends Bu, Julia, my sister and I all went to Budapest, then Venice then Amsterdam. Venice was cool. Julia was really into homeopathic remedies and my sister got sick on something so we're in this cafe in Venice and she gives my sister this grapeseed extract or something to take to make her feel better. My sister puked all over the place so she went back to the hotel and Julia and I went walking around. We go into this sort of funky junk store and theres this youngish guy working there, really good looking like a model. He's all interested in what we're doing so he tells us to call him later and he'll take us around Venice. So we call him and he arranges for us to meet him and this super swanky hotel. Turns out his wife owns it and we drink for free and then his friends meet us and take us all over Venice drinking - it was pretty cool. Then the next day that guy has us come to this other place he owns, this warehouse with tons of really neat antiques and chachkas and there is a wall of booz - old Portos and Absinthe and all that and we drink all day there. It was so cool meeting that guy. I forget his name. That was an awesome trip for sure. I went to bed at 10:00 last night. Exciting eh?

bela:
That guy lived in Venice, thats how wealthy he was - or his wife was - I guess no one actually lives in Venice, people come in to work and leave at the end of the day.
