CNN:
Sources identified one of the dead as Abu Ali, also known as Qaed Senyan al-Harthi, who was believed to have played a major role in the October 2000 attack on the destroyer Cole that killed 17 sailors.
Ali once served as one of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's senior bodyguards and was the group's top leader in Yemen.
Walid Al-Saqqaf, managing editor of the Yemen Times, told CNN that Ali was identified as the one in the vehicle by a mark on his leg, which was blown off in the blast and was found near the scene.

Local taxes in New York State are far and away the highest, per person, in America. New Yorkers pay on average close to $2,400 a year to local governments— more than twice the national average. These taxes are expected to increase dramatically again next year.

Myk Murphy:

Queenie:
just got an email from the PTA newsgroup welcoming a new baby to someone's family. Their children are called Aislyn and Keelan. My friend Clint just had a son and named him Cyan. Honestly... you might question my parenting skills but at least I would never slap a name like Cyan or Aislyn on some poor kid.
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:38:02 pm)
Myk Murphy:
when it comes to terrorists, "parts is parts".
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:38:03 pm)
Queenie:
Uh oh Myk, they were just "suspected"?? That seems a little risky.
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:38:57 pm)
Queenie:
You just made me laugh really hard Myk. Parts is parts... classic!
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:39:24 pm)
Queenie:
are there gonna be reprecussions?
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:46:22 pm)
Myk Murphy:
heh heh, queenie. i feel the same way. in germany, they actually have laws that dictate to parents the manner in which they name their children. if there is no legitimate "root" for a name, such as being a normal german (or other language's) name, it cannot be bestowed. they even make sure that the resident turks (and other muslims) keep the naming normal within muslim guidelines. this doesn't seem like such a bad idea.
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:46:23 pm)
Queenie:
yeah i spelled it wrong, who cares, not me
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:46:32 pm)
Myk Murphy:
let god sort 'em out, queenie. in yemen, it's only a short trip from normal joe to international terrorist! seriously, i hope they got the right guys, but given the high visibility of this shot (on soil where they're not supposed to be having a war), i bet they plugged the right guys.
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:47:52 pm)
Queenie:
I GOT A TABLE AT LARGO!!!!
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:47:57 pm)
Queenie:
sorry dead guys but I got a table at largo!
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:48:24 pm)
Myk Murphy:
as for repercussions, most yemenis have a dim view of our fair land and people, so it's hard to be concerned. the government of yemen is currently "our bitch" due to their terrorist complacency. they acquiesce, as they should, when we enforce justice on their soil.
(Mon Nov 4, 2002 - 5:49:36 pm)
Myk Murphy:
they would consider your trip to largo as a brazen act by an infidel woman, so i doubt they had your interests at heart. congratulations!
