I don't know I made it up. I get it from old tv shows mostly.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:21:16 pm)

Queenie:
maybe I should just talk to the parents of the hep kids and prearrange "play dates" (gaawd, I hate that phrase) so that way, when pesky girl wants to come over, I can say, "Sorry, but so-and-so is coming over today".
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:21:20 pm)

Decoy:
Thanks theo, but I think I got that stuff from your site like a year ago. Is that page new?
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:21:41 pm)

Queenie:
it probably doesn't help that my friends are such freaks.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:21:53 pm)

Queenie:
or maybe that helps, I don't know.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:22:01 pm)

Decoy:
Kids love structure. Go for it. You just solved it yourself.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:22:13 pm)

Queenie:
yay!
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:22:29 pm)

Decoy:
And just keep the freakshow until after bedtime.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:23:23 pm)

Queenie:
buncha tattooed weirdos, my friends. but they are, for the most part, drug-free hipster artists. She doesn't see people sitting around and getting high or playing video games for fun or whatever, she sees art exhibits and concerts and short films being made and photo sessions and so forth. So that's got to be a good influence, right?
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:24:46 pm)

theo:
yeah...but the "She Said, She Said" is new.

Decoy:
Norms, mores, and values. Right now, you get to pick for her. Ten years from now, forget it.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:25:54 pm)

Decoy:
I swear I've heard that before. Its with the Egyptians, yes?
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:26:19 pm)

Queenie:
what the holy hell was that?
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:26:58 pm)

Queenie:
norms don't necessarily have to be 'normal', do they? just consistent?
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:27:22 pm)

theo:
Egyptians yes.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:28:05 pm)

Queenie:
my little family unit has some odd values, I think.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:28:25 pm)

bela:
You're not the only one.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:30:46 pm)

Dear Student, Thank you for your interest in our university. We have reviewed your transcripts and determined you are not a human but an enormous living brain. In fact, some of us here believe you are a being of pure intellect roaming free throughout the universe, unrestrained by physical form. While this would make unnecessary your request for a dorm room, we feel our students and faculty would be unable to comprehend your existence in our world. We hope you find a university capable of challenging your obviously superior mind.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:31:38 pm)

Decoy:
Well, Queenie, think about it, egh?
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:34:43 pm)

Queenie:
Egh?
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:36:36 pm)

Queenie:
just say what you're thinkin', mang.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:36:53 pm)

Queenie:
It's not like I had a very admirable or even stable example set for me as a child to base my actions on.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:38:05 pm)

Queenie:
Just the fact that I'm still married goes against everything I was taught as a child.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:38:36 pm)

Decoy:
Well, obviously. You have to decide what's right for raising your child to be happy, successful, and a positive influence on the world. Don't just say, "Well, we're weirdos," and giggle. I cringe to post that, but there you go.

Queenie:
oh no, you got me all wrong. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Sidney's behavior in this situation, in fact I commend her for her willingness to go against the crowd and play with the kid no one else will play with, and I don't think my lifestyle has anything to do with this situation, except maybe that she's learned to be openminded about people, er... I dunno. But I never meant to imply that I think I'm doing something wrong or anything, because I don't think I am. I know my weak points, and I don't think this situation has anything to do with any of them.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:52:54 pm)

Queenie:
is there such a thing as too friendly and open-minded? I dont' know. I just wish she'd be more careful about who she chooses to spend time with, cause glommers are no good.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:56:09 pm)

Queenie:
The only family value of ours that I wonder about is the idea that music or whatever art one chooses should guide one's career decisions moreso than money. And I'm still not sure if that's a good thing or not. Hasn't done a lot of good for me, money-wise. Yet. Is it better to be artistically satisfied and poor than braindead and well-off?
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:58:26 pm)

Queenie:
more so. D'oh. Somebody ring the irony bell.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:59:16 pm)

Detlef Sping:
Just so it doesn't fall to the ground and rot and smell.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 3:59:50 pm)

Queenie:
maybe sidney will get lucky and have a passion for math or something that she can actually build a viable career with.
(Mon Oct 7, 2002 - 4:00:14 pm)

Detlef Sping:
Have you gone insane?
