Every night about a quarter to ten
From the middle of June till the summer's end
People would gather from miles around
To see the mighty Rainbow knock 'em down

He'd pull up from around the back
Folks say, "There's Rainbow's Cadillac"
Fancy shirts and shorts of plaid
Coat of more colors than Joseph had.

ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkish paramilitary police have seized more than 33 pounds of weapons-grade uranium and detained two men accused of smuggling the material, the state-run Anatolian news agency said on Saturday.

Officers in the southern province of Sanliurfa, which borders Syria and is about 155 miles from the Iraqi border, were acting on a tip-off when they stopped a taxi cab and discovered the uranium in a lead container hidden beneath the vehicle's seat, the agency said.

Authorities believe the uranium came from an east European country and has a value of about $5 million, Anatolian said.

It was not immediately clear when the operation was carried out. Anatolian only gave the first names of the suspects, which appeared to be Turkish.

Police in Turkey seized more than two pounds of weapons-grade uranium last November that had been smuggled into Turkey from an east European nation.

hi queenie. yeah, it's a bittersweet sort of thing. thanks for the easton clarification... that would explain the absence of the "welcome to easton... hometown of avant garde filmmaker and web mistress Queenie!" sign when driving route 50 to ocean city.

Are you rich? Life insurance can be a wonderful thing. It's a sure bet.
I bought two things today. First, a scanner. A Visioneer 5800. Doesn't work. My computer won't talk to it. It goes back tomorrow or Monday. Sceond, Porcupine Trees new cd. In Abstentia or whatever. A dud. First PT album I don't like. Too many hard guitars.

nothing worse than a bad day shopping. I wanted the HP scanner, but they were all out of them.

no insurance, no money to speak of, just lots and lots of stuff. Today was closet, dresser, and jewelry boxes day. We found an old will she wrote in 1988, it helped a bit with the divvying process. I was given all of the jewelry, which I split up with my sister-in-law since I don't really wear gold anyway. I got all the old wedding rings (she had a surprising number of them) and some choice sweaters. There is a whole room full of art supplies. I'm talking boxes and boxes and boxes of crafts and projects -- toll paints, silk paints, china paints, oil paints, watercolors, and tons of just arty stuff. Everyone was like, "This is all for Joni" and I'm thrilled to have it but wondering where the hell I'm going to put all of it. We found a huge bag of letters, she'd kept every letter that anyone had ever written her, going back go the sixties. Letters from my uncle when he was in Vietnam ("Don't tell mom but I was shot in the head"). The women kept everything.
