Oh god, this girl that I deal with on LI knows I'm an animal person and tells me how her neighbors on LI just threw their two elderly cats out of the house when they renovated. Why does she tell me this stuff? I tell her she should take them in or take them to a shelter and shes all "I'm afraid they'll sue me if I take them in and a shelter will destroy them" . Uugh, people drive me crazy so here I am finding a no kill to take them and send her an email convincing her that what the owners have done is cruel and she shouldn't give their rights a second thought as they have forfeited their rights as repsonsible owners once they threw them out of the house. I tell her I'll give her $$ for a donation to give the shelter. I'm thinking I c an't believe I'm doing this. People drive me crazy.

You cant take away peoples cats just because they put them outside while they renovate, good god they probably dont want them to get stuck in the recipricating saw. The cats elderly or not can probably enjoy the long Island flora and fawna while the swearing and hammering, and theloud rock music that construction types listen to, is going on.

Yeah, and their elderly too with catarax and everything. She said they renovated their house and just threw them out. I see it all the time at the shelter. People suck. She said they've been sleeping under her bushes. I'm trying to convince her to take them in, let them live in her heated garage or take them to a shelter. Its all I can do. I have enough animal problems here in Brooklyn but I feel I at least have to do what I can. She sent me an email telling me how cute I am that I care but shes really attached to them and doesn't want to see them in a shelter. I could strangle this girl. Oh well.
