Queenie:
anyway before he got into cubism PICASSO was a classically trained artist whose portraits were very lifelike and followed all the anatomical rules.

Decoy:
Last night I was going through some slides that I took in the Louvre. There's this one of the Mona Lisa behind glass, and in the layers of glass you can see a jumbled reflection of me taking the picture surrounded by and standing head and shoulders above a throng of asian tourists all trying to get their glimpse. The reflection just takes over the scene.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:40:02 pm)

Queenie:

The point of a painting is not to see something exactly as it is, but to see it through the artist's eyes.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:51:04 pm)

Decoy:
Says who?
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:52:38 pm)

Queenie:
The only artist that really represents exact imagery is a photographer, though there's so much manipulation of a photograph that can be done. In fact, I remember you guys talking once about how the real art of photography is in the darkroom.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:52:46 pm)

Queenie:
Says me, can't you read?

Queenie:
I'm really talking out of my ass. I'm just talking to hear my own voice. Or see my own words, as it were.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:53:37 pm)

Decoy:
There's like a million books on art you can read.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:54:12 pm)

(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:54:31 pm)

(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:54:38 pm)

Decoy:
I'd hang it in the powder room. That's where Mrs Decoy has the Sunflowers print. It'd go.
