Decoy:
I saw a bunch of Matisse poeces in Holland. Wink wink.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:23:30 pm)

Heruka:
sorry, that was Decoy.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:23:53 pm)

Queenie:
being a fauvist, he was allowed to fool around with anatomy.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:23:55 pm)

Queenie:
that didn't come out right.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:24:11 pm)

Detlef Sping:
oh sure he's a great painter, heh, what was I thinking
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:24:29 pm)

Queenie:
anyway all those post-impressionist guys fiddled with proportions and perspectives and whatnot. It was kinda the whole point.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:24:40 pm)

Queenie:
they were railing against the man.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:24:56 pm)

Detlef Sping:
He played the fauv?
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:25:00 pm)

Queenie:
but they were all classically trained, so they knew their anatomy inside and out. they just chose to alter it. Unlike me -- when I paint something out of proportions, it's cause I suck.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:25:48 pm)

Detlef Sping:
They just couldn't draw if they're life depended on it.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:25:50 pm)

Decoy:
I don't use words like "pussy."
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:26:14 pm)

Detlef Sping:
I smell soup.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:26:21 pm)

Queenie:
they could too. look at the early work of any one of them.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:26:34 pm)

Detlef Sping:
Has belas cat shrivelled up?
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:26:53 pm)

Decoy:
I hate whe the nose points the wrong way for what side of the head you are looking at. THAT FILLS ME WITH RAGE!!!!!!
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:26:55 pm)

Queenie:
what do you say instead of "pussy"?
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:27:07 pm)

Heruka:
Sping, are you suggesting cubism started as a paint by numbers gone horribly wrong?
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:27:19 pm)

Detlef Sping:
Mattisse's early work was CRAP.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:27:42 pm)

Queenie:
Really? Rage? I have a painting in my house that would no doubt enrage you. People find it very unsettling. It's a normal picture except that this woman's eyes are looking in two different directions in a way that no human eyes could do unless some optical nerve was severed or something.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:28:17 pm)

Heruka:
beaver? snatch? sloppy gash? clam?
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:28:19 pm)

Queenie:
ew
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:28:36 pm)

Detlef Sping:
I'm suggesting it was based more on how much absinthe they could pound back and whose ass they were kissing at the time.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:29:08 pm)

Queenie:
before van gogh got into cubism, he was making portraits that were photo-lifelike. it's like any art form, you have to learn all the rules in order to break them well.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:29:12 pm)

Queenie:
gaaaaawd it's nice to have a normal conversation. relatively speaking.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:29:40 pm)

Detlef Sping:
He was not.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:30:02 pm)

Detlef Sping:
I still smell soup.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:30:39 pm)

Queenie:
He was too.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:30:45 pm)

Detlef Sping:
I'm going to track it down. Auf!
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:31:05 pm)

Heruka:
van gogh in cubism? I thought that was Picasso.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:31:31 pm)

Heruka:

(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:32:17 pm)

Decoy:
So that's why those painting are always on top of another one of dogs playing poker? Queenie, you should write a paper.
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:32:32 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Have you all gone insane?
(Fri Sep 20, 2002 - 1:32:33 pm)
