it feels nice to be able to give back something like a wallet. some local attorney left his ATM debit visa card sitting on the ATM near my office a couple of months ago. not wise. fortunately, he was in the book. he offered me $20 for returning it. i was simultaneously pleased and insulted. i feel like i've mentioned this on the lounge board here. have i? i want to eat at this brennan's place. it looks nice... is it in buffalo? i'm due for a road trip. if i come up to buffalo, can you guys set me up with all-i-can-eat wings and beer? and a sabres or bills game.
(Mon Aug 19, 2002 - 10:42:42 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Good God man. Pay more attention. Brennan's is in Cleveland. We should all meet there. We don't eat Lake Erie Perch in Buffalo. We know better.
(Mon Aug 19, 2002 - 11:50:13 pm)

Chewing Wax:
If you come to Buffalo, you'll have the best time of your life. More or less. I'll see to it.

Quite nearly the time of my life. You can't beat that. I don't like to eat seafood so far inland. Risky business, that.
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 7:53:49 am)

Heruka:
I'm sorry. Don't you eat out of that cesspool the Chesepeake? I'll have you know our beloved lake rie perch contain no manmade chemicals at all. Wax doesn't eat lake fish because he lives in Buffalo. And the Buffalo river, one of the worst in the nation, dumps chemicals tht even Dupont never heard of into the lake.

Good morning. So yesterday we had to move our car to the other side of the street and we found this piece of mail in it with the name and address of a Michael Guaman whose residence is 2 streets over from where our car was found so we're taking it to the Police station. I doubt they'll do anything. They didn't really seem to care.
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 9:45:49 am)

Heruka:
did they finger print the car?
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 9:53:55 am)

bela:
Yeah, they'll fingerprint the piece of mail at some point. Who knows. We're going to bring it in anyway.
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 9:54:32 am)

Heruka:
if they have this guys prints on record, perhaps they'll match up now that they have a possible name. although they now have computers that can automaticall run through its database and match fingerprints. cops don't care much for auto thefts or anything like that. even here in suburbia it seems. unless its a freshly stolen car so they can chase after it. carjackings, yes. old autothefts, no.
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 10:01:58 am)

bela:
0h yeah, they don't give a shit about auto theft. They remotely care because the car was damaged. Whatever, we'll see.
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 10:08:54 am)

Detlef Sping:
If the thief flew it into a building then they'd care plenty. Plenty I tell you.
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 10:13:26 am)

Chewing Wax:
It's true
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 10:15:14 am)

Detlef Sping:
You shouldpay a little visit to Michael Guaman's house and see what kind of dirtbag he is.
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 10:18:10 am)

bela:
Thats ok.

A forest fire that burned out of control for almost two weeks and devastated over 50,000 acres near San Diego was caused by a helicopter looking for pot farms, a California Department of Forestry investigation has concluded. "A California National Guard helicopter was in the area looking for drugs, and clipped a power line, which caused a spark which started the fire," said Martie Perkins, fire information officer for the department. The helicopter was working with a DEA antidrug task force, out looking for marijuana grow operations.

I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way, but I think we should wipe Islam off the face of the earth. With extreme predjudice.
(Tue Aug 20, 2002 - 11:20:45 am)

That's a fair comment.

FUNTUA, Nigeria, Aug. 19 — An Islamic high court in northern Nigeria rejected an appeal today from a single mother sentenced to be stoned to death for having had sex out of wedlock.

Many of the 60 people who packed the small courtroom shouted, "God is great!" in the Hausa dialect, as Ms. Lawal wept.

"This is a triumph of Allah's law against the enemies of Shariah," said Muhammad Radiu, 26, an Islamic studies student. "By this judgment, we are confident the government is serious about the implementation of Shariah."
