Wax, youre su[pposed to be a lawyer, right? So tell me something, being of Irish descent I can become a resident of Ireland without moving there and giving up my American residencey. But I cannot vote, nor do I pay taxes blah blah... But if I were to do this, become a resident of Ireland, would this also make me a part of the EU? This would help me greatly on our little sea voyage we're planning. Or is the Irish thing too much of a novelty. Italy does this too, don't they? Allow those of Italian descent becomes citizens.

Heruka:
That'd be neato. I'm sure the citizenship is more of a novelty than aything, but if it wee to work, this could open up a whole new world for me. I'll post no bonds going in and out of European held countries.
(Fri Jul 19, 2002 - 12:51:02 pm)

:

(Irish Nationality and Citizenship Acts 1956 and 1986 as amended) Irish Citizens are also citizens of the European Union Irish citizenship/passport will allow you to live and work in Ireland for as long as you wish.
