(Tue Apr 4, 2000 - 4:40:48 pm)

Chewing Wax:
We could pool our money. $6000 would buy a sweet computer.
(Tue Apr 4, 2000 - 4:42:27 pm)

Myk Murphy:

(Tue Apr 4, 2000 - 4:43:04 pm)

(Tue Apr 4, 2000 - 4:43:32 pm)

Myk Murphy:
with that, i successfully killed all conversation on this board for over 6 hours. here's some fun news: my boss was canned today. it seems that it's important to make an appearance at work on a regular basis. also, it seems that it's important to do this while being sober. while you're at it, one should avoid misrepresenting one's accreditations. someone might check up on it. actually, i liked the guy: he did have a sense of humor about things.
(Tue Apr 4, 2000 - 10:59:46 pm)

Chewing Wax:
On that note, I say good night. Work sober. Hah.
(Tue Apr 4, 2000 - 11:03:00 pm)

Dr GB:
This is good. I take a day off, I come back, the e-mail system is so badly buggered that I have to log off. The Mud Hut is officially closed. Better go shopping hadn't I.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 7:32:41 am)

Myk Murphy:
the mud hut is closed? geez.... shopping would be good. go buy something nice on oxford street for me, please.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:01:18 am)

Decoy:
Its snowing and I saw American Beauty last night. Kevin Spacy was great, but it must have been a weak year for that to be best picture. I hope they let me have my midlife crisis in peace for God's sake.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:10:05 am)

Myk Murphy:
you didn't really like it, wax? heresy!
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:12:49 am)

Myk Murphy:
sunny, but 40 degrees this morning, here.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:13:16 am)

Decoy:
Who? Me?
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:19:22 am)

Chewing Wax:
Who me?
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:26:16 am)

Myk Murphy:

(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:31:27 am)

Myk Murphy:
so i'll start again....
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:31:42 am)

Myk Murphy:
you didn't really like it, decoy? heresy!
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:32:03 am)

Chewing Wax:
That's better. I haven't seen it yet, but I saw China Town for the first time and I loved it. What a film.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:57:06 am)

Chewing Wax:

Poor frozen birdy.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 9:59:16 am)

JIMMY:
Man I'm hungry, that bird looks delicious.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 10:15:07 am)

Balázs Bernát:

Jimmy my old friend, how was Cuba and the dancing girls? Do you remember that garlic press you took from me? My mother says she would be needing that back soon.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 10:16:58 am)

Dr GB:
Hello! So here we are, back in the land of the computing. Coffee. Chocolate. Lounge. Huzzah.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 10:20:35 am)

JIMMY:
Cuba sucked Hooka hooty was cookin up some imigration scheme with that bearded dude and a little kid 'Alien' or somethin'..I broke the garlic press tryin to crack brasil nuts.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 10:21:34 am)

Decoy:
Good point, Wax. I loved Chinatown the first time I saw it. Relative to American Beauty, Pulp Fiction, for example, is way more watchable, despite its harshness. I do get the feeling that I would appreciate American Beauty if I watched it again, but who would want to do that? Its uncomfortable with the j.o. and the dysfunction, and pedaphilia, and the boroque sensibilities, and the hey hey hey...
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 10:24:33 am)

Balázs Bernát:

Oh no, that is very saddening news for the sure of it. That garlic press was a precious family heirloom, passed down through eighteen generations on my dead grandmother's side. I received a letter from U.S. Immigration department asking about you and Hooka. I could not vouch for you I am afraid to be saying.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 10:25:11 am)

Balázs Bernát:

(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 10:26:01 am)

Myk Murphy:
i'm really beginning to wonder where hooka hooty went. delayed jail time? worse? chinatown was a fine film, as i remember it, although it's been ages since i saw it, so it's all a bit blurry.
(Wed Apr 5, 2000 - 10:31:42 am)

Decoy:
Welcome back, guys, by the way. And another thing, it was almost like part of the director and writer's artistic purpoe was to test the audience's resolve to skirt the edge of taboo. It was like I was being dared to sit there and wait for the story to happen. It didn't pull me in like narrative should. At one point I thought it was gonna turn into the "Peacocks in Suburbia." But they didn't need killing, they just needed to get their shit together. Plus I didn't even get Annette Benning's character's motivation besides just being plain stupid, evil, and selfish - she had no struggle with anything at all.
