that trip to burger king was no good at all. the new chicken whopper was a quarter gristle. i was annoyed. i was only feigning shock over the sleeping arrangements. i've slept in some comical arrangements, but alcohol and a collegiate atmosphere made it all logical at the time.

It wasn't the shock of sleeping arraingments I was referring to. Sleeping with the same sex is no big deal, I've done it lots. I was thinking more of the jokes that could arrise from some of the statements. I used to sleep in the same bed/rear seat as other males, but nothing ever happened. When you're 14 and several hundred miles from home with only enough money to pay for the gas to get you home, you've no choice but to sleep with others in the car. Or are too poor to get two hotel rooms, so we'de just get a twin beds and bunk together. Hoping in a ehicle and end up in different cities, Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Niagra Falls. We loved just hitting the road and going somewhere, road trip. Only twice did we get stuck, once when we were something like 150 miles east of Pittsburh, we hit the Salvation Army, who found us really strange. I think they thought we were runaways. They gave us some cash, whicj=h was payed back once we got home. We mailed them money and a thank you. Also in Pittsburgh, there we called our parents who were a bit angry, they wired us some cash. In the later stages of our voyages, the oldest of our group had a credit card, which was great. We nede up in New York, driving the cheesy hand painted dodge dart into the town, we stayed at a nice hotel. We stayed for 4 or 5 days. It was great.

Teenage roadtrips are the BEST. I remember taking many a spur of the moment jaunts up to Pittsburgh or State College just for the hell of it.

Groovy? It poured and poured all weekend. But warm. I sat around watching golf on the television. That was kind of groovy.
