Chewing Wax:
Beards off.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:08:43 am)

Mrs Dr GB:
Is it Spring? I think as with most things it's released in the US first. I think we get Spring in a few weeks.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:08:52 am)

Cushca:
Is that an order for us or a statement about you?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:09:11 am)

Decoy:
Morning, vernal gun jumpers. Isn't it 2:14pm that spring starts?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:12:47 am)

Decoy:
Sounds like a perfect Tuesday, Wax, well done. I spent the evening sitting with my wife and mother-in-law while they read cookbooks and talked about the aunts and uncles that don't call anymore.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:18:38 am)

Myk Murphy:
I'll keep the beard. Spring in dc is lousy. The other seasons are much better.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:36:52 am)

Chewing Wax:
2:16pm according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:38:28 am)

Chewing Wax:
It was, a referal to me. Beard's off. Is what I should have written.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:39:03 am)

Decoy:
What is that, do you suppose, sunset GMT?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:40:43 am)

Decoy:
Nope, 1:11.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:42:47 am)

Chewing Wax:
It's when the suns most direct rays pass directly over the equator. It's a happinstance of the earth's orbit.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:47:03 am)

Heruka:
I've seen Dennis Miller on HBO last night. He's pretty good. My guess it would be @:16 EST, my local booklet on weather and gardening tips put out by a local meteorologist aslo states 2:16, but gives no timezone. Aren't we getting rid of the timezones anyhow?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:50:01 am)

Heruka:
so timezones are irrelevant.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:50:51 am)

Chewing Wax:
It's an exact moment in time. 2:16pm est. Which is 19:16 gmt.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:54:27 am)

Chewing Wax:
Rid of time zones?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:55:00 am)

Decoy:
Yeah, sunset GMT today is 1:11pm EST
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:55:22 am)

Decoy:
Of course, that's at a high lattitude. What is sunset GMT in a city on the equator?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:56:06 am)

Chewing Wax:
Sunset GMT where? What are you talking about?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:56:21 am)

Chewing Wax:
GMT is a completely arbitrary longitude line. It has nothing to do with when seasons start.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:57:30 am)

Heruka:
I read somewhere that the world is going to move to a more universal system to keeping time. Of course, we'll never do that here. We still have yet to move to the metric system. heh.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:58:11 am)

Chewing Wax:
Actually, GMT isn't the line. It's a time zone.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:58:19 am)

Chewing Wax:
I see references to universal time all the time. It's just gmt with a different name.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 8:58:42 am)

Chewing Wax:
At any rate, spring doesn't technically start for 5 hours and 16 minutes. Give or take. Just enough time for a bath.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:00:22 am)

Decoy:
Good enough for me.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:01:19 am)

Chewing Wax:
Hey Decoy, you get your free cd yet?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:01:27 am)

Decoy:
But I think sunset at the intersection of the Prime Meridian and the Equator is our 2:14pm local time. But I don't care enough to verify it.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:03:08 am)

Decoy:
No, not yet.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:03:17 am)

Heruka:
That's cheating!
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:07:46 am)

theo:
Good Morning Loungers..
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:19:16 am)

Chewing Wax:
Hello theo
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:21:36 am)

theo:
Hey Wax how's it goin'?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:24:18 am)

theo:
I'm single again..and hating it.
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:25:10 am)

Chewing Wax:
How long were you and Betsy going out?
(Wed Mar 20, 2002 - 9:29:58 am)
