Queenie:
She saw what these jackels were saying about her?
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:17:44 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Is her name Biscuit?
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:17:55 pm)

Queenie:
jackals
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:18:23 pm)

theo:
Nope.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:18:39 pm)

Chewing Wax:
We didn't say anything. Theo did. Going on about hickeys and what not.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:18:43 pm)

Heruka:
Now I gotta watch that movie.

(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:19:17 pm)

theo:
Right. wink .
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:19:21 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Well. I'm glad you're alive.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:19:50 pm)

theo:
Are you really ...aw shucks.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:20:24 pm)

Queenie:
So heruka you think the b&w of that ship is more arty because it has skillfully and artistically captured a moment? Versus the color snapshot which has neither skillfully nor artistically captured an uniteresting moment? So is the art in photography the ability to capture an interesting moment in a skillful and artistic way?
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:20:48 pm)

Chewing Wax:
That one down below reminds me of the photo on the cover of I Often Dream of Trains. I love that photo.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:20:48 pm)

theo:
Guess I'll have to check the archives for all the details.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:20:57 pm)

Queenie:
It's the guy on the dock that makes that picture.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:21:54 pm)

Chewing Wax:
It's everything.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:22:30 pm)

Queenie:
I've been to art exhibits of photographer's work where the pictures are just nothing but black and white landscapes. And I remember thinking, "Yeah? So?" I guess because they weren't really capturing anything interesting, subject matter-wise.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:22:37 pm)

Queenie:
It's like, "Ooh, a cactus. Whoppee".
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:22:59 pm)

Queenie:
whoopee.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:23:04 pm)

Queenie:
Either way.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:23:07 pm)

Chewing Wax:

Here's my house in 1901. It's full of the artistic touch. A guy sitting forlornly on the porch would make it much better though.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:23:41 pm)

Queenie:
But then again, my favorite photographer is Annie Liebowitz, and she just takes colorful pictures of rock stars.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:23:45 pm)

theo:
Wax we need to have a drink and listen session again..soon.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:23:51 pm)

Queenie:
Or a small child all bundled up on the lawn.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:24:00 pm)

Queenie:
My favorite Annie Liebowitz photo is the one she took of John and Yoko the day he died. It's a beautiful photo but really it's the fact that he died hours later that really makes it beautiful.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:25:15 pm)

Heruka:
I think they're all god. Well not all. tdepends on the photo, but as an armchair philosopher, the images of the old sailing ship gliding crtoss the water stir my mind a bit. There no color, no real definition of the ship. It blends in with its surroundings. it leaves enough space to let the mind loose. to pnder the future or now history of that boat and all that sailed her. it alllows me to think of other objects and people including myself on the same level. the seas is mesmerizing. to almost everyone. at a park on the ocean od lake, how come the benches are never at the city? they're laways lloking out on the sea. it's the color, it's the lack of invovement. look at those lines. rough gometric patterns. it's brilliant.

theo:
That tree in front of the house has grown much..
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:28:41 pm)

Heruka:
as long as you can't make out the guys features. then, the guy could be you. you realate the house and guy to yourself. humanism, I know. But not self absorbed humanism.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:28:56 pm)

Queenie:
Why not self-absorbed?
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:29:48 pm)

Heruka:
I type like a 10 year old.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:29:54 pm)

Queenie:
I like photos of places I want to go. That's pretty self-absorbed, isn't it.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:30:08 pm)

Chewing Wax:
My favorite Liebowitz, and actually the only one of hers I've seen that I like is Debra Winger french kissing that german shephard. It's an excellent photograph.
(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:31:34 pm)

Queenie:
Finally fucking found it

(Thu Mar 7, 2002 - 4:32:02 pm)

Chewing Wax:
I agree theo.
