Chewing Wax:
What did you do to her?
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 2:57:38 pm)
Heruka:
I've palnted snapdragons today. A month or so, they'll be able to plant outside hopefully.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:03:40 pm)
Chewing Wax:
I've got to order seeds. Thanks for reminding me.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:04:12 pm)
Heruka:
Where do you order seeds from? I use Mr. Fothergills, I pick them up from a nursery. They're great.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:06:25 pm)
Chewing Wax:
The pepper seeds I usually get from Shepherd's Garden Seeds.

Chewing Wax:
I still have a ton of red savina juice from the big 1994 crop. It's just too hot to use. And it doesn't go bad.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:20:27 pm)
bela:
I told her I wasn't surprised that she was moving out for a month on Dicko that from what she tells about how he treats her that led me to believe it would eventually happen and that they should really separate. She hasn't emailed me back. Someone has got to lay it on the line for that girl, shes a nice girl, I like her but that guy is bad news. He blames her for everything that goes wrong in his life. I'd be like fuck you mother fucker and leave. I wouldn't cry and moan about it.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:20:35 pm)
Chewing Wax:
I remember. She's the one who thought he was blowing smoke up her ass?
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:21:27 pm)
Chewing Wax:
You ever munch on plane roasted coffee beans? It's not bad.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:23:22 pm)
Chewing Wax:
plain
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:23:30 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Better with chocolate on them I guess.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:23:48 pm)
Heruka:
Is that a chile pepper, or a habanero? I think they throw the habanero term in there as a selling point.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:24:46 pm)
bela:
Yes, exactly. Her life is complaining about this guy. When she lived across the street, we would take the train together and she would talk non stop from platform to 42nd street about her problems with him. They moved to way up town Manhattan so we just email but all the problems are the same. He has this crippling depression where he won't speak to her, he'll say shit like "Oh my friends don't call me anymore cause I'm married." Hes a big wuss. Shes got too many problems. They came to my birthday party at 2 am, I was totally shitfaced and she starts crying and telling me how her grandfather died and her mother is insane and her grandmother is threatening to kill herself. I was like, whoa, this is too h arsh for me right now.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:24:46 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Isn't habanero just a breed of chile pepper? They looked just like the orange habanero's only they were bright bright red. Beautiful peppers.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:26:24 pm)
Chewing Wax:
And they did have that characteristic habanero taste too. I'd say they were habaneros for sure.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:26:57 pm)
Heruka:
I don't believe so. true habaneros come from Asia, not Mexico. Chile peppers are froum south america I think.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:27:54 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Well, that's not my understanding at all.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:28:51 pm)
Chewing Wax:
According to Websters, the named was coined in 1988. Heh.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:30:00 pm)
Chewing Wax:
I thought all Chili peppers were bred out of original South American stock, brought back to europe and asia by Columbus types.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:31:10 pm)
Chewing Wax:
including habaneros.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:31:20 pm)
bela:
I don't like cooked peppers, too mushy.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:31:53 pm)
habanero:
Main Entry: ha·ba·ne·ro

(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:32:17 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Anyhow, they're too hot to eat. I like jalepenos a lot. And Serranos.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:34:03 pm)
Heruka:
Treu habaneros, of which there is only one species, came from Asia, Thailand I believe. The term "hababero" is a ctually a generic term.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:36:20 pm)
Chewing Wax:
I've never heard that.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:37:38 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Which doesn't mean it's not true
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:37:50 pm)
Heruka:
Texas A&M U. developed a habanero without any heat to it. they developed it for Paces picante sauce. I've been looking for plants and/or seeds to this plant ever since. I can't find any. I think it's patented.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:38:21 pm)
Chewing Wax:
So you're saying the true habanero isn't a chili pepper at all, but an different species native to Asia.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:38:48 pm)
Heruka:
Yes. And there is only one plant to the true"habanero" species.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:39:32 pm)
Chewing Wax:
They also are responsible for those fairly mild jalepenos everyone eats on their ballpark nachos. Real original jalepenos were incredibly hot. The hottest pepper I ever tasted was a jalepeno. Hotter than any habanero I ever tasted.
(Thu Feb 28, 2002 - 3:40:09 pm)
Heruka:
There's hotter peppers out there. Their little, and easily found in dried form. I cna't emember the name though. My old boss gave me a sandwich filled with them, and I ate it unknowingly. That was painful.
