Sleepy:
I've listened to R.E.M.'s Texarkana three times today. And now I want to make a film just so that I can put that on the soundtrack. Do you think the cafe will be empty yet? I want some food.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:11:43 am)
Sleepy:
Cushca. I have an idea. I think we should form a charity.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:12:56 am)
Sleepy:
And then we can organise lots of lovely events in the name of that charity.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:14:15 am)
Sleepy:
Hello.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:14:35 am)
Chewing Wax:
I pass that record store every day and never go in because I think I don't know what I want to buy. R.E.M. That's what I should buy. If someone had no R.E.M. albums, which one should they buy first? Hypothetically speaking.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:15:15 am)
Chewing Wax:
Hello
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:15:21 am)
Sleepy:
Do you think you prefer old or new?
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:15:38 am)
Sleepy:
If old, I'd go for Reckoning or Life's Rich Pageant. If new, I'd go for New Adventure in Hifi or the current one, Reveal. The "greatest hits" type record, Eponymous, is a good starting point too.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:17:19 am)
Sleepy:
s. Adventures.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:17:35 am)
Sleepy:
But they're all fabulous. There. I've covered myself.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:20:05 am)
Chewing Wax:
Which one has End of the World on it? Or that Shiney Happy People?
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:21:12 am)
Sleepy:
Document and Out of Time.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:22:13 am)
Sleepy:
You might like Out of Time. Go for that.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:23:47 am)
Cushca:
Dead Letter Office. I really like that one. It sounds nice and old fashioned. But otherwise, Monster or New Adventures in Hi Fi. I hate all the albums that you're meant to like. I really don't like Out Of Time. So maybe you shouldn't listen to me.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:24:16 am)
Sleepy:
Dead Letter Office is the oldest R.E.M stuff and included their first EP. I sound like a bastard, don't I?
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:25:42 am)
Sleepy:
Monster and New Adventures are 'loud'.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:26:11 am)
Chewing Wax:
So many choices.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:27:55 am)
Sleepy:
That's part of the joy.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:28:28 am)
Chewing Wax:
I can see that
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:30:02 am)
bela:
Murmur is like the best REM album. Anything past Reckoning I wouldn't really bother with.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:30:03 am)
Cushca:
'Loud'. You sound like a fucking pensioner.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:30:28 am)
Chewing Wax:
Hello bela
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:30:46 am)
Sleepy:
Murmur is fantastic. But maybe not for an introduction to them.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:30:49 am)
Sleepy:
Loud, as in not like Reveal, for example. That why I put the " " round it. You bastard.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:31:37 am)
bela:
Although I love that song Driver 8, it really is good. The rest of the albums have so much crap on them, like that stupid Shiney Happy People. Blech.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:31:43 am)
Sleepy:
I'm not keen on that or Losing My Religion.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:32:17 am)
Cushca:
I know, I know. You sound like a proper muso. I think we've tapped an area of particular expertise fellas.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:32:31 am)
Sleepy:
Shiny Happy People, I mean. Driver 8 is one of the bestest songs in the world.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:32:39 am)
Sleepy:
I'll stop now.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:33:23 am)
Chewing Wax:
I had an apartment mate in college who played Murmur a lot.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:34:19 am)
Sleepy:
Just go to Amazon and buy the lot.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:35:05 am)
Cushca:
My fucking co-worker has just snapped at me. Fucking bitch. Sleepy, I shall be calling you shortly.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:36:04 am)
bela:
Not to be confused with XTC's Mummer - one of the best albums in the world.
(Mon Feb 25, 2002 - 9:36:05 am)
